Dear CBS announcers

Fuck you. "I'm sure it's a significant win for Michigan, but I don't think it justifies storming the court." "Nowadays it doesn't have to." ".....Whatever." Sorry it didn't turn out the way you wanted it to. It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine!

Agree with everything you said. But that's still not enough for rushing the court. Back in my day, in addition to walking to school with no shoes in 10 miles of snow, we only rushed the court for momentous, historic victories or upsets. Turning around a disappointing season with a win over the 15th ranked team in the country didn't qualify. (/Grumpy Old Man). It's not something that bothers me -- if kids want to rush the court and have fun, let 'em rush it. But I do think the announcers' reaction was appropriate.

He was obviously annoyed that he had all these people running around in front of him. Why else would he even bring it up? Why the hell does he even care? We won a big game and people were running on the court. Why shouldn't they? Despite Vern the call of the game was good, because of Clark Kellogg. IMO he is the best game commentator, intelligent and fair, despite his choice of colleges.

I wonder if it has to do with the SEC being strict about their fans rushing the court an the field in football. Verne is just whining because they don't have as much fun in the SEC.

I kinda agree with Vern. I think it's more of a compliment to Michigan, that he thinks us beating a team ranked no. 15 at home is not that big of an upset. As an aside, how about Bill Cowher doing college bball highlights?! I was pleasantly surpised at the depth of his knowledge.

don't forget osu alum clark kellogg getting in some digs on michigan at the rushing the court scene.

Verne is a big East apologist and Clark Kellogg is from tUofOSU...what could we expect different? Let's not forget that the Big East is CBS' broadcast partner until 2013 (at least).

A) This was the signature OOC game on our schedule ever since it was announced. We were probably storming the court with a win even if we were unbeaten going in. B) This is the first big resume win in a year where an NCAA tourney bid is way up in the air. C) You may not think it warrants rushing the court but you don't SAY that. D) You are entirely, ENTIRELY, too old to say "whatever" to dismiss anybody. That was just awkward.

I really didn't think they did such a bad job. I'm sure they made some asinine comments but I thought that Clark Kellogg did a good job of explaining strategy and officiating. In one of those cheesy "The SEC rules and everyone else drulez" articles, the author wrote that Danielson was one reason why the SEC is so awesome because he's one of the best commentators out there and is unapologetic in his outspokenness. Yes, it mentioned his infamous Florida/Michigan chart. The guy is an ass who spouts so much anti-Big 10 BS like it's literally part of his job. But even once you get past his big mouth, I still don't think that there is much special about Danielson.

I'm sorry but we just beat a team that might not be ranked next week at home, whose best player played 3 minutes in the first half due to foul trouble. It was a much needed big win and hopefully gives us some confidence going into a tough stretch, but it was not worthy of storming the court and it's kinda embarrassing that those had to be the final comments of our nationally televised game. Go Jets.

One was just letting his bucknuts show...too bad the rush wasn't after the OSU game. Wonder what he would have said then? :) But obviously, they had not prepared or understood what has been going on with UM sports and how important this weekend is for basketball hopes and the recruits in the stands. The rush was an emotional release, should impress the recruits and I enjoyed it from my sofa! Verne Lundquist and Clark Kellogg

I'm in the same boat. In fairness to Verne, though, he might just be trying to pick up some of the grumpy old man slack left by Billy Packer. Also, all the OSU-based attacks on Kellog strike me as a pretty big stretch. I thought he did a fine job today, and I think he's always been a good announcer/analyst - there's a reason he's been around forever.
