Deadspin Michigan preview is a failure, mocked on Twitter
For those of you not on Twitter, these tweets should pretty much sum it up:
Someone managed to write an entire preview of Michigan without realizing Jake Rudock transferred in. https://t.co/5KPKa91Dgr
— Ace Anbender (@AceAnbender) August 18, 2015
In other news, Michigan apparently lost to Penn State last year.

"I could have put in here more about him, but I had no idea he existed until three minutes ago."

Somehow this goofball QB depth chart I made up for Michigan in April is more accurate than Deadspin’s preview. pic.twitter.com/7Fdpwgt2zs

Need to be clear about is out in the real world this is Exactly how Harbaugh and the UM program is viewed. At the bottom, headed nowhere, with a nut job now leading the charge. Seems spot on in most circles
August 18th, 2015 at 5:09 PM ^
Couldn't have happened to a more mediocre, self-righteous sports blog. They did give us the Manti Te'o story though.
August 18th, 2015 at 6:33 PM ^
Exposing a catfished college kid doesn't count for much in my book.
August 18th, 2015 at 7:22 PM ^
But damn, it was funny and it was Notre Dame to boot. Two thumbs up for that one.
August 18th, 2015 at 7:59 PM ^
Indeed. And I still don't believe Te'o was even catfished.
August 19th, 2015 at 9:14 AM ^
It pretty obvious to anyone not born yesterday that he made the whole thing up.
August 18th, 2015 at 6:33 PM ^
I'll never visit gawker, deadspin, etc. after what they did to the Conde Nast CFO. Just a cesspool of unstable "writers" who thrive off ruining lives. Really, really sick stuff.
August 19th, 2015 at 9:24 AM ^
And boycott their advertisers too if they don't take a stand against this type of "journalism" and inexcusable shaming.

WTF is Angelique thinking, ain't NOBODY getting in the submarine...
August 19th, 2015 at 10:36 AM ^
HAHAHAHAHA, best joke of the day. Made my morning, thanks!
August 18th, 2015 at 5:16 PM ^
At least THEY didn't break the list on Freep that everyone is yappin about!
August 18th, 2015 at 5:20 PM ^
But they assigned this piece to their intern--I 'm sorry "Summer Fellow"--who didn't do his research and isn't funny at all, hitting all the obvious Harbaugh jokes (intense, scary, dude needs to chill, etc.). Looks like the writer is a former Dukie too: https://twitter.com/NickA_Martin
August 18th, 2015 at 5:19 PM ^
Read that. Was ridiculous.
August 18th, 2015 at 5:22 PM ^
I also read through it. Incredibly, forgetting Rudock was the LEAST dumb part of the article.
August 18th, 2015 at 5:33 PM ^
Really, he's just a filler anyway.
August 18th, 2015 at 5:51 PM ^
Nevermind, Ace beat me to it, lol
August 18th, 2015 at 5:26 PM ^
Ace just Ethered this dude
August 18th, 2015 at 5:30 PM ^
What exactly is Deadspin supposed to be, anyway? Weren't they originally a satirical site? When did they start trying to be legitimate?
August 18th, 2015 at 5:32 PM ^
Fact checking Deadspin is a hopeless cause.
Current headlines include:
"Which NBA Player Cheered On His 69ing Partner Like A Teammate?"
and
"This Woman Does Not Like Us Making Fun Of The Texans"
In other news, the Bat Boy was recently discovered living underneath the empty bleachers at Wallace Wade Stadium.
August 18th, 2015 at 5:33 PM ^
Reminds me of Bleacher Report. Pure shit
August 18th, 2015 at 5:34 PM ^
That guy writes like a total knob.

You're tlaking about Deadspin here, so forgive me but you'll have to be more specific.
August 18th, 2015 at 5:46 PM ^
Also gotta give some blame to the person who edited and approved it as you gotta know that any piece about a team with a top 5 fanbase needs to at least have the basics down. He also didn't endear himself with this tweet below. Seems to forget that the "smug asshole" only works when you actually know what you're talking about.
"Hey, don't forget about our mediocre Iowa QB!" The Michigan preview: http://t.co/dlAj4Pn4UZ

10 points to he who can name this movie reference!
August 18th, 2015 at 7:12 PM ^
Is it from Help!, The Beatles film?
August 18th, 2015 at 5:50 PM ^
He also referred to Deveon Smith and Derrick Green as Michigan's "security blanket," though in a possibly mocking manner. He doesn't seem to be aware of Drake Johnson or Ty Isaac.
August 18th, 2015 at 5:51 PM ^
This guy have a Twitter? I just want to follow him for 1 minute to call him an idiot.

Best idea I heard all day . . .
August 18th, 2015 at 5:59 PM ^
Judging from the article, I'm not even sure he has internet access.
August 18th, 2015 at 5:55 PM ^
Fair and unbiased indeed *vomits*. As I recall from Twitter, this guy wrote for the Duke Chronicle so I am sure his preview of Duke hoops will be objective as well and not have a badly Photoshopped image of him doing things to Coach K that are still not entirely legal in some states. Not at all. Totally objective.
I can see his journalism future now, covering the stories that matter to people:
August 18th, 2015 at 5:56 PM ^
This is why I don't read Deadspin. 90% of their content is incoherent dog shit.
August 18th, 2015 at 5:59 PM ^
Some of their investigative stuff has been pretty good in the past.
But for actual analysis of on field/court happenings, it's not where you want to go.
August 18th, 2015 at 8:09 PM ^
Well thought out nonsense?

Sounds like a sparty brah all the way. Michigan might be top 15 in 2017?
August 19th, 2015 at 10:45 AM ^
From a couple comments above with a pic showing his twitter profile avater. Looks like he's from Duke, or just a Duke supporter.
August 18th, 2015 at 6:02 PM ^
The worst kind of hack. The kind that thinks he's funny/clever. He writes like a dipshit MSU grad too. In any case I welcome the Harbaugh and Michigan haters. Whatever happens we won't lack motivation nor hunger to win. Harbaugh has done more with less.
August 18th, 2015 at 6:05 PM ^
It's harder to win at Michigan than Stanford and the University of San Diego?
August 18th, 2015 at 6:48 PM ^
except for Stanford....
August 18th, 2015 at 6:17 PM ^
Wow. Another reason to love twitter.
August 18th, 2015 at 6:37 PM ^
Deadspin's sports coverage is kinda terrible. I mean, the whole Gawker regime is really starting to fall apart, but what used to be an interesting read in Deadspin has basically become "how snarky and/or aloof can we be without putting any effort in."
In fact, the only sports-related story Deadspin could hang its hat on recently is the Teo story, which was basically outting a guy for being catfished. It was barely related to sports.
