Do we need this many threads? Just make one that encompasses all.

One thread to find them.
One thread to bring them all.
And in the darkness, bind them.

My #1 choice. But really, I don't think it matters all that much. Harbaugh has had tons and tons of excellent assistants. Has he been good because of them, or have they been good because of him? Methinks the latter is pretty likley.

I see 5 posts about the DCC. Time to get some actual work done while everyone else argues over this guy's fit over that guy's, who doesn't run a 3-3-5, who's a better recruiter, etc.
My boss thanks all of you.

That dude used to kill on Weather Channel. Where is he these days?

John Hope, who was on TWC for years during the 80s and into the 90s. He worked into his 70s and I believe he passed away a few years ago. I agree, he was good!

John was Brady's twin brother and he could be a good coach!

This was my first thought. I wish Derek Mason would've gotten fired by Vanderbilt.

Director of Defense.
I like it.

Sounds kind of communist if you ask me. Do not want.
December 2nd, 2015 at 3:10 PM ^
if defense is spelled defence. We're all good.

How about Vic Fangio to replace Durkin?
December 2nd, 2015 at 3:08 PM ^
I would be fine with this selection.

I like idea. Harbaugh tried to get him last year along with Durkin. Maybe he'll come as a solo DC.

He Got shredded by spread offenses this year too...we need to find a DC who can defend the spread

To be fair, the Oregon spread is different than the OSU spread.
December 2nd, 2015 at 3:50 PM ^
People think that this sprad offense phenomenon only applies to Michigan's defense. No one is stopping the spread offense right now. Alabama in two years vs Johnny Manziel gave up 80 points and around 1100 yards. They could not stop Cam Newton. They could not stop Ohio State. They could not stop OU.
Stopping the spread offense is pretty simple: don't give up the first first down. Once you give that up, no DC in the country can help you out. You are in for the long haul on the drive most the time.
December 2nd, 2015 at 3:55 PM ^
is by blowing up first down consistently, typically by having your front four dominate their five OL (as OSU did vs. Oregon in the NC last year)
December 2nd, 2015 at 3:49 PM ^
Stanford's defense is pretty bad this year.

From Director of Defense" to "Defensive Coordinator"?? What a step down that would be
December 2nd, 2015 at 6:22 PM ^
Kind of like Assistant to the Regional Manager < Assistant Regional Manager.
December 2nd, 2015 at 7:09 PM ^
Don't forget the Assistant to the Assistant to the Regional Manager. AARM... patent pending.
