DB Coach?

Submitted by Logan on

Now that his season is over, who thinks Brady's brother, Jon, will give us a look? Even with Mattison, I think it's important we have someone in place to get commits from McClure and Raven (and Countess' confirmation for that matter). Who are the other candidates?

Good point and I would say no, but I also wouldn't have believed the Mattison hire. If Corwin wants back into the college game he could very well take this job, "help Michigan", and then move on (i.e. I'm not sure how long Mattison is planning on coaching, and it could be a positive marker for him to turn our secondary around to get another position).

You mean the one who told recruits (when he was coaching at ND) that he would have gone to ND over Michigan had he been offered by them?

I'm 100% willing to forgive Brown and I've love to have him back as a DB coach.  But I don't forget.

If he had wanted the DC job, he could have had it. He squashed that and there is NO way he will move from the NFL back to college for the same job. He has numerously stated he is more of an NFL coach than a college coach. Very, very doubtful.

I swear I heard the same argument about our current DC.... Not saying you said it... I think DB set the tone of not speaking to potential coaches until their season is done.  Hoke followed that example by not bringing Mattison in until his season was over.  I wouldn't be surprised at all if Jon Hoke came to coach DB's... It's not like da bears DB job is the pinnacle of position coaching....  I wouldn't be surprised if he takes the job by Monday or Tuesday....

Sure seems like it.  Although, when asked, he said no.  He doesn't like to recruit.  I wonder who else is available out of the playoff teams.

We still need 2 coaches, I wonder who they are waiting on.

He said he wasn't interested.

I suppose it's possible that he was just saying that until the Bears season ended, though. Brady seemed to hint that his brother might be the guy, and it does seem weird that they haven't hired a DB coach yet.

I agree with this and realize its plausibility, but don't you think this is more of a Mattison hire than a Hoke hire? Maybe not, but I hope it is after seeing this Gerg and Shafer disaster.

Its gonna be jon hoke. Brady already asked him if at the end of the season he would come over and he said he would love to. The Bears coaching staff is a nervous wreck wondering if they are going to keep their jobs year in and year out.
