Day after Thanksgiving College Football Open Thread

Start with Syracuse-Temple, but shortly followed by the more important but ultimately disappointing Nebraska-Iowa. LSU-Arkansas, the Apple Cup, Arizona-ASU, and various other games of modest importance. But it kills time till the leftovers come out.

Horrible clock management. Here come a GERG Davis pass completion short of the sticks and the clock running out before they can try a FG.

Bad snap. Hit in face. Fall on ball. That was a spectacular sequence for no gain.

Also, the timeouts are there for you to use, Kirk. Do not be afraid. By rule, nothing will happen.

EDIT: FG is no good - is there another team in football that will work THAT hard for an FG attempt  today?

I have a confession.  After RR was canned and before Hoke was hired I was really hoping we'd go get Ferentz and was PISSED we didnt take a bigger run at him

Iowa's incompentance at anything resembling football is staggering

Yup, this is Iowa.  I don't think they have what it takes to keep this up for another half.  I'll keep rooting for them, but it is a pretty frustrating experience

Poor time clock management and against the wind means that a potentially 7-point drive becomes 0. Absolutely horrendous offense by Iowa. They are playing just like the Lions yesterday.

I just don't see how Nebraska will lose this game.

Ill take it. Iowa starts with the ball in the second half. Could come back to bite us that they didn't score more points but at least Nebraska did not score with wind at the back. C'mon Iowa hold on.

The universe is conspiring for Iowa to win, but they're just too bad... Martinez armpunt right to the safety? Dropped. Punt return setup for a score? Returnman literally falls down on his own feet. 40 seconds to go 20 yards? Somehow ends up getting only 2 plays out of it and then a missed field goal. Nebraska can make halftime adjustments to better attack Iowa's horribe defense. Iowa can't make adjustments to stop sucking.

I didn't think there was going to be anything more brutal than cheering for that knuckleheaded Spartan team against Nebraska, but this takes the cake.

Ferentz is part of a whole generation of coaches who somehow believe that calling your final timeout is worse than letting the clock run down to impossibly low amounts of time.  These guys need an intervention.
