KU it's going to be.  Hoody hoo, that's going to be a tough game.  Oh well, all the more to add to an impressive Elite 8/Final 4 run.

I think we're going to need Jordan Morgan to return to form and helping out in this upcoming game, not that I'm not stoked about McGary these past few games and for the future.  His experience at the least will be beneficial in this HUGE game. (Here's to Jordan Morgan getting that head right and shedding any ankle issues still lingering.)

I like the "Round of 32" name a lot better than "Third Round," which just confuses everybody.  We should always call it that (and call the previous one the "Round of 64").

A few fun stats in this one:

Florida Gulf Coast sporting a 64.6% effective field goal percentage. San Diego State is sitting at 48.3%. What has made a difference here - the Aztecs have been to the stripe twice as often as the Eagles, and FGCU has a few more turnovers (8, as opposed to 5 for SDSU).

There ae not egregious amounts of rebounding in this game, so there isn't much data, but the Aztecs are leading this battle on offense by a significant margin.

Gophers on a nice run and have the Florida front line in foul trouble, so naturally Tubby takes everyone who can handle the ball or make a post feed out of the game.

A Florida win would be good for by bracket but I can't root against Minnesota and Tubby (mainly because they lose to us - a lot).

Your team is down 10-12 points, and not scoring.  Put your best and hottest scorer back in the game!  You won't win with him next to you with 4 fouls any more than you won't win with him sitting next to you with 5 fouls.

I think this is a similar situation to going for it on fourth down when it is statistically the right move. The coaches feel that they will be blamed more if they have their player foul out early or fail to convert on the 4th down. They just kick the can down the road by doing what the 'conventional wisdom' tells them even if that is not what would be best for their team.

I just came back from the near future.

"I thought it'd be better to throw away the game by taking out the one guy we needed to continue the comeback rather than have him foul out in a tied game with 45 seconds left." - Tubby in the postgame presser

You're welcome.

Funny:  Mr. Yost posts Morning/Early game thread.  In said thread, Mr. Yost posts night game schedule for whoever is going to post the Evening/Night game thread to access quickly.   Then Mr. Yost posts Evening/night thread.

You set yourself up for success on that one.

Also, I'm just finding a bit of irony, here.  If this comes off as dickish, it's because it is, not because I meant for it to be.

Wow. What just happened. I turned this off for 10 minutes to get some work done and FGCU is up 20? Crazy turnovers? Bunch of 3s?
