Eeeeeeeee!!! Commence over-analyzation!
Tennessee is not recruiting well just because they got 18 dudes
Eeeeeeeee!!! Commence over-analyzation!
That kid is quick as a cat! I'm in full blown optimism mode.
I thought the same thing. That guy has such good feet. But please put some weight on.
That guy does his work in a phone booth. He is a little light but with that quickness, feet, route running, and hands he looks ready to impact from day 1.
yeah ill take a little light all day long from true frosh as long as hes got the quicks and agility - and it looks like hes not only quick but also has decent long speed. plus canteen appears to be one of those dudes who wont gain more than several pounds per year during his career - and the nfl has scores of 6'0" or 6'1" guys below 200 lbs. as many have said, much needed addition to WR room, especially as his skill set differs greatly from statue WRs in 2013 class. not many 6'4" WRs turn into calvin or keyshawn johnson or julio jones or braylon edwards - so while i think harris and ways will both be players, its nice to see coaches recognize need for speed and different skill sets and set aside the apparent preference for prototypical height/weight players. real excited to see that kid this fall
Damn government firewalls, I can't access from here. So frustrating...
All the comments describing awesome things, and we can't even access the video.
"Oh, did you see Jabrill? He looks...." Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!
I'll summarize it for you and the other guys who cant see it.
Starts out with a few interviews, shots of guys running through various drills and lots of camera work on the QBs & O - line.
Ends with Kate Upton completely nude singing The Victors.
Serves you right for making me the punchline in your golf joke.
True, true, very true...
LOL go ahead and take your +1 from me, you deserve it
i broke my ankles just watching that move. check him out at about the 2:15 mark.
Lightning is no longer kept in a bottle...
It's in a Canteeeeeeeeeen!
I want him to take Braxton's head clean off his shoulders in November.
Nice plug for tickets at the end.

Guess you got negged for not explaining the 4 P's:
+1 because of your username...love it!
That was surprisingly (and refreshingly) honest. Yes, the offensive line had problems last year, so we're going to mention it and not pretend it didn't. Yes, everyone wants to see Peppers in a 'M' uniform so we're to show him and not try to treat everyone equally by showing some walk-on freshman (no offense to the walk-on freshmen).
Braden is huge. He looks like the mountain sans beard
are you pointing out that mountains don't have beards, or that Braden looks even larger without his beard? Either way, I agree the dude is huge.
Game of Thrones reference...
but I'm not ruling out a Mt Rushmore reference until he clarifies.
For some reason, my head is starting to hurt... can't pinpoint it.
Great, now I am imagining all mountains with an Abraham Lincoln beard.
Joe Bolden looks like a football player.
I'm really cheering for Bolden to get the start against Appy State. Not because I don't like Morgan or think Bolden will be better, but I really want to see Brian eat a lemon on the internet.
I thought they all did personally
Damn, Freddy Canteen is quick!
Damn, Frank Clark was going through those drills with some violence. Hope to see him break out this fall.
I know it's just drills but he looked like a real deal animal.
Also noticed how much slower and methodical Beyer did the same drill. I hope Taco sees more time this year.
That jumped out to me too. He was slow and very deliberate with the footwork. I guess he's not one of the more athletic d-lineman we have.
I was always confused about Hoke's talk about violent hands, I'm less confused now after watching Frank.
Lightning! It was lightning for all you fools bitching yesterday in the picture thread about "boo hoo, why are they inside on a perfectly beautiful day, whaaaaaa". You think Hoke would be practicing inside on the very first day of practice if being outside was an option?? Cumong man!!
I was one of those who complained because nearby, the weather was non-threatening. They should practice out in the sun and heat, unless there's lightning. Now I know the reason.
Do you feel better?
Also, it was revealed last year that we practiced INSIDE during MSU week. So my complaint about being indoors is not unfounded.
Jesus it's good to have football actually back. I know the dark years (08-09) where we didnt have a bowl were actually longer but man did this offseason seem to take forever to go away. I am so, so ready for Michigan to start looking like the Michigan team I remember and I really think this is the year it starts to happen.
I had been calling for 9-3 with losses to all of our road rivals but I think I'm going to up that number to 10-2 with at least one win over the big three. Not sure which one but I think this is the year we turn the corner and win one.
After reading Bry Mac's (I think it was him) preview in HTTVs I feel a lot bette about ND. They lost a decent amount on both sides of the ball. Their linebacking core has Jalen Smith coming back and guys who couldn't push out medocre seniors. Not to mention their new DC doesn't seem to inspire confidences. It just seems like a good matchup for us.
And yeah, their defensive front seven is in line for some serious regression. I'd expect a LOT of inside zone against them until the safeties have to come down. They have a lot of talent offensively, but the quarterback situation is still iffy. Brian Kelly is insisting that Malik Zaire is pushing for a starting spot.
Didn't understand people marking the ND game down as a loss.
Shell shock from the end of last season probably. And it's not out of the realm of possibility. Kelly can generate a certain amount of offense with his schemes, and even with a regression in ND's front seven, will UM be able to take advantage? And it's on the road...which has not been good for UM.
Probably so. A loss is possible. I'd say it's a toss up.
It's not a loss.
UM does not exactly have the best road record against ranked teams the past few years. I think it's pretty clear why most "experts" don't expect UM to win this game.
That's true, but at some point the momentum will shift.
I thought the same thing watching #BTNLive last night. One of their poll questions was "Which team do you think will win the Big Ten Championship?" The choices were OSU, MSU, Wisconsin, Iowa, and "other." My wife commented about us being an "other" and I guess my point is--we will be an "other"....until we aren't.
At some point the experts become wrong and end up just observing & commenting on current events. In which case the media meme will be "a resurgent Michigan team......."
Yes, but Notre Dame will once again prove they have no reason to be a ranked team...at least as high as they're always ranked.
This is really a reply to all 3 posters that replied to me so I don't have to reply to each one individually. I'm trying to save some internet space here. You're welcome Brian ;)
I agree, at some point the team is going to turn the page and get this thing going. But, I guess I'm in the "prove it first" boat. I refuse to get my hopes up about something that I haven't seen much of in the better part of a decade. It's just easier this way.
I agree ND has flaws, but if you were an unbiased observer...are their flaws more glaring than UMs? That's actually a difficult question to answer. So, for me the edge goes to the home team in a night rivarly game. If it was in AA I'd pick to UM to win the game hands down, but it's not.
Finally, I agree the "experts" are idiots, but there are just so many question marks. This team has the talent that if a bunch of stuff goes their way and they figure out the o-line...they sky's the limit. But, the same is true of the flip side...if they don't get some things figured out like a pass rush, a running game, protect Gardner, etc. this team could easily lose 4-5 games too. So, it's hard to say with much confidence what this team will do. Again, in a rivalry game at night, I have to give the edge to the home team, despite big question marks with both teams.
Really cool to see them side by side in the same drill. Mirrored each other almost perfectly, but Taylor had the more fluid hips. Really excited to watch the secondary battles shake out this year
We are going 15-0. No doubt about it.
for Heiko, please ask about double bubble screens with Norfleet going one way and Canteen going the other. Just have Funchess and Darboh/Chesson/Ways heading down the seams...
Maybe my sarcasm meter is broken, but Heiko no longer works for this blog I believe.
would have committed to the blog, rather than just to an offensive coordinator. As soon as we lost Borges I knew we'd lose Heiko.
force someone to become a Doctor.
Dr. Heiko right?
cuz the filter I have to deal with has yours, well...rather miniscule. But maybe that's why a woman's depth perception is so bad -- all their lives they've been told that 12 inches is not really 12 inches.
"miniscule" is such a nice loooong word! It must be like 49 letters!
He can get his up quicker though.
The ol' no-blocker bubble screen. 60% of the time, it works every time.
Yep. I'm pumped. I love the countdown to kickoff videos, though I will miss seeing John Falk in them. His video about the helmets is still my favorite CTK video.
These workplace internet blocks are killing me, and I'm not allowed to have my phone in the building.
keep the Chinese out.
Amazing closing speed! Just wow. Canteen also looks really quick. This team certainly has athletes! Good to have football back.
needs a Doge meme, methinks.
Not so excited about having to once again manage middle school homework and get a middle schooler on the bus by 7:25AM.
Braden looks great
Looks like Watson (#28) is playing safety?
I was hoping Taco would be a little bigger
Countess and Taylor look outstanding and in-step in the DB drills
Just after thinking that, they show Jourdan Lewis making a great play on the ball
Peppers at nickel or safety, eh?
Clark with NFL pop on those blocking dummies
AJ Williams, Heitzman, and I believe Hill all make a catch
BUBBLE TO CANTEEN!!!!
Hurst rodeo’s Ben Pliska and makes a TFL
But he really looks like an agressive player and that's not necessarily a good thing at safety. Especially early on in a career. An agressive player that lacks experience might be a bit too likely to incorrectly commit early and a safety making that mistake that can result in a pretty big play for the opposition.
But with a year under his belt, with his size, speed, tackling brutality and playmaking ability he'd be a mean safety. More
Nickel would probably be a whole lot safer.
But who knows, day two (?) of practice and all.
Internet disclaimer: all that is absolutely a lay opinion, and it's not presented as anything but.
I have a feeling he will see most of his time at nickel this year, and then probably take over Taylor's spot next year.
Hoping Dymonte gets a stranglehold on that other safety spot.
Don't forget! There are 2014 tickets still available!
I hope dymonte Thomas has a breakout year and we can find a role for him.
Let him battle with Delano Hill and leave him there.
Clark and Wilson can battle at FS and leave them there.
Pretty sure Wilaon is a lock to start. But hey, Clark can't be worst than Furman for backup.
Without all that season ticket shit on it...I need a new wallpaper!
+1 for not wanting shit on your wallpaper.
I don't have anything to back this up, but I think Jourdan Lewis is going to be a problem in the future!(good problem). I just hope he continues to get a fair shot since the game is shifting towards taller DB's.
You have plenty to back that up. He played well in in the games he appeared in last year, pushing into the line-up despite two experienced CB's. He won a starting job during spring practice. Many, including Sam Webb, has him as definitive starter at CB going into Fall camp, with the other spot left to Countess/Taylor (though that could change).
I just assumed someone would ask for stats or detailed reasoning behind my statement. But I guess that leaves Channing Stribling as the odd man out? Unless he rotates with Lewis, maybe they bump him back to one of the safety positions? It'll be interesting to see where they place him this year.
that we're discussing DEPTH AND COMPETITION instead of death and castration back there. No matter who starts, there will be PT for those mentioned, and FRESH bodies rotating.
Does anyone know why only the QBs have their names on their jerseys? I would think they would be the easiest to remember
They wore those jerseys in the spring game where everyone else wore their game jerseys.
Michigan has about 5 different styles of practice jerseys.
I liked that the QBs were hitting our wideouts in stride and I saw some pressure, up the middle, from Mo Hurst. Peppers is in the building!
Papers couldn't pick the fumble up on the first bounce??!! Well guys, looks like another 5 star bust. I guess Michigan just can't develop talent
Right Clover Sausage?
Haha I just noticed it. Auto correct is always good for a laugh
My phone likes to correct 'Haha' with 'MHSAA'. So a lot funny situations end with awkward explanations of Michigan high school acronyms
GOD. PLEASE. NO. INJURIES.
He coudln't even run over guys not wearing pads.
EAT MOAR CHEEZBURGERS DERRICK
The guys look to be picking up right where they left off in Spring, with no apparent rust to knock off. My guess is they've had a busy summer of voluntary workouts, they look like they've been doing this for months.
When was the last time most of the players participated in voluntary summer workouts? 2011?
Are we in a position to have subs? That would be crazy.
I refuse to get excited until 8/30
I . . . can't . . . stop . . . watching. And I have work to do.
Just 10 more seconds.
Ok, that wasn't really a whole 10 seconds. Ten more starting . . . now. No, wait . . . now. No, . . . now.
Damn it. Maybe I can catch up tomorrow.
This is also JV's problem this year.
