Nice letter to Devin relating to JT Barrett's injury.

EDIT: Not entirely sure if Dave Clarborn has any affiliation to the Athletic Department, but according to DG the letter was sent from both.

Not really but a very classy gesture from their athletic department

on the letterhead looks miles better than the "split-O" they use for their "brand." One of the good things Brandon did ("branding"-wise) was to get rid of the split-M. It's not my call, but I think OSU should switch to the same "O" they use on their letterhead.

I like DG a lot.  The on the field results were inconsistent, but he did give is some great games to watch, and he's obviously winning at life so there's that.

MGOTwitterUsers should just form a task force and spam the hell out of these stupid social media "fans" that make the rest of us look bad.  They deserve to be called out and trolled.

There may be "mega assbags" in the Michigan fanbase, too, but they represent a much smaller percentage of the fanbase than those in the schools you mentioned.

Incredibly awesome thing for Claborn  to do.   Does anyone think Dave Brandon would have done that?  I don't and it annoys the hell out of me to concede sportsmanship high ground to OSU.   I do have some hope that Hackett might make a gesture like that though.

Thank you Devin Gardner for that simple action that reinforces the way things should be at Michigan.

Not that it matters per the point, but what is being represented in the media is that the OSU at Columbus sent the letter.  And this really does make a difference per the gesture of having sent the letter.  Not to it's meaning or the sportsmanship Devin showed, but to the sportsmanship of OSU if they had actually done what they are being represented to have done.  Technically, OSU sent the letter.  In reality "OSU" did not.  Just sayin'.....

Athletic Department? OSU at Marion. How connected is this guy to OSU, Columbus? I'm not saying it's not a classy thing, but it doesn't appear to be coming from The Ohio State University. Yes I'm stirring the pot, but I'm also cynical that The OSU athletic department would send this given their track record with childish things related to Michigan.

repeatedly has proven himself on the field and in The Game. He may not have won with his arm and feet against Ohio, but he always put on a first class show. And I always admire him as one of Michigan's finest who honored himself and the program while wearing Tom Harmon's number gallantly.

My only regret is that he would have been given better opportunity to use his natural skills in a more efficient way at quarterback. That said he is a true Michigan Man, in every sense.

Paranthetically, this nice note came apparently from a well wisher inside the Marion branch of   The Ohio State University, not from the official fundraising office in Columbus. Still, an extremely kind gesture.

That Devin knows that once the final gun sounds, one score or another, one statistic or another, won't matter in the grand scheme of things. How you represent yourself will always be your measure as a human being in every part of your life, and will follow you long after you've stopped playing the game. It's called 'character' and he has it in abundance. I couldn't be prouder that he wore the Maize and Blue.

Gardner. Class act all the way.

I really hope someone gives Gardner a shot in the NFL. I don't think he'd get drafted any higher than the 6th-7th round, if at all, but he's got some good potential. I hope he can land somewhere like the Pats, Broncos or Packers, hold a clipboard for a while and really learn from an elite QB. I've always wondered what Gardner would be able to accomplish if he had the right coaches.

Those ND, OSU and Indiana games last year showed us that his good is really, really good.

Devin Gardner transcends the game of football.  He'll run some important organization some day.

Gerald Ford used to play football.  Do you know that Michigan only won one game when he was a Senior?  And yet that certainly didn't define Gerald Ford.

I stalked the guy and checked out his facebook page.  Seems like he has a grandson named (wait for it...) Devin.  The picture of him posted on his wall shows him in a maize and blue t-shirt over which some friend is giving him grief.

Also, he is at OSU-Marian which is 45 miles north of C-Bus.
