It's pretty clear from Brandon's press conference that he deliberately floated the "trial balloon" about moving The Game in order to elicit the overwhelming fan reaction that would convince the other ADs to keep The Game at the end of the season.  Brandon wanted the game at the end of the season, but schedules he was presented with by the conference explored other options, and the other ADs didn't really care one way or the other.  Brandon, by floating the trial balloon, got everyone to understand how important it was to maintain the tradition.

Nice work, Mr. Brandon.

Yep, the man's a genius.  I never lost faith in him but was amazed how quickly many others changed their tune from singing his praises to thinking he was Satan incarnate.  I knew he had an ace up his sleeve.  Everyone who turned on him is eating their humble pie tonight.

I caught this in Mike Rothstein's twitter, and never saw another good place to post it.  But I'm sure it's somewhere in these videos:

Brandon: "There's a lot out there about the Alabama game. ... We're having discussions." Not a done deal. #Michigan #Alabama

Maybe I missed it somewhere else, but this seemed like the first time to me he hasn't given a "no comment" answer on this subject.  He's actually acknowledging it's in the works.
