There is something both tragic and comical about Dave Brandon's immense douchiness. I therefore conclude that
we need a Dave Brandon photoshop thread.

RR made some mistakes, but he also didn't get a fair shot when we were too damn cheap to hire Casteel and didn't give him a 4th year. Not saying he would have succeeded if all that happened, but I think he'd still be here and doing well. Would have been nice to give him the chance.
His WVU teams during his tenure were overall better than Carr's teams. His Arizona team would destroy us now. He turned WVU into a national power and that might happen at Arizona too. Arizona. Seeing as he did so well before us and after us, with 2 mediocre programs, maybe it wasn't all his fault.

What was the story with Casteel anyway? Why wasn't he allowed to bring him to Michigan and whose decision was that?

He was allowed but they wouldn't pay him enough to make him leave WV. I believe Casteel stayed there until RR got hired at Zona. I would bet getting enough money for a good DC was something RR made sure of when he signed with them. Don't remember the details about how much Casteel was getting at WV and all that. Then when Hoke got hired they paid high salaries to Borges and Mattison. Of course, Brandon made that hire. Martin was the one who hired Rodriguez, so that's not on Brandon.
