I'm a lifelong Laker fan, so I do have a horse in this race, but even if the nixed deal had involved CP3 going to the Celtics, the trade veto would've been a debacle for every team in the league.  The NBA just pissed away what little credibility it had left. Even if Stern reverses course and allows the trade (as he should've), the damage has been done. 

It also must be said that this doesn't make Cavs owner Dan Gilbert (one of the instigators behind the trade veto) any less incompetent at running his own damn team.
