Is Dantonio expected to make it back by the Michigan game? I just read that he unexpectedly visited the rif raf (his team) today... Does he come back in time, and if not, what effect will that have?
Dantonio Return Date?
I don't know. I just wish him good health...
way to say that +1 to you
We know about as much about this as we did about your post from its title: absolutely nothing. Worry about BGSU and IU first.
I enjoy the board more in the offseason.
Minimum points to post should be at least 100.
him good health but I still hate that smug sun-of -bitch!
so I can return to "Suck my bonio!" comments
I don't think Dantonio himself knows at this point.
Waiting for the first "too soon" posting...
Jim Comparoni or whatever his name is from SpartanMag was on the HUGE show today and seemed to think that he'd be up in the box for Wiscy, and probably on the sidelines against UM. Bring it!
and he comes back when he's ready, not when he feels he needs to be there for the team. Hopefully he comes back 100%...
I admire both Hollis' and Becky Dantonio for keeping Mark's priorities straight. Obviously, he'll return to the sideline, but the guy had a heart attack less than a week ago. Both Hollis and Becky are focusing on the person and not the icon. God speed in your recovery Mark. I look forward to playing and beating you and your team when you are both at your full health and capacity.
...that he will come back just in time for the UM game, to give his team an emotional boost? dude is so hardcore that he had a heart attack just to give his team an edge on the day of his return, no doubt.
I could see that, but IMO that's not really the big issue. The bigger question is whether he's going to be in there during the week, working those 18-hour days to develop the gameplan. That might be asking too much of him.
I agree that he'll try to be back by then, but a heart attack isn't something you can just bounce back from, even if it is relatively minor. I wish him the best, and I expect to see him on the sideline in some capacity when he comes to A2, but my guess is that he won't be the official coach at that point.
I'm sure he'll try to make it back for UM, but obviously you want him to look out for his health first. I think he'll be smart about it, and even if he is not coaching the team when they travel to A2 he'll be there to cheer them on. I wish him the best off-the-field, and cannot wait for his butt-kicking on it.
He also had surgery to insert a stent I think he's gonna be out a little longer than we think. I hope all goes well in his recovery
is not that significant. a return in time for UM is most definitely not out of the question. the shame is it will become a distraction that can only help MSU fans (we won with/without our coach). the best to him on his recovery all the same.
No way Dantonio would miss the Michigan game, it's THE GAME for them.
Hopefully not until he is fully healthy and hopefully not for a rivalry that, while large in it's scope in Big Ten and Michigan football, is a pale second to a mans health.
I've heard of people needing a little while to come back from that type surgery, but I've also seen people back to normal pretty quickly. Best wishes to him as he recovers, and that it happens as quickly as possible. The on the field stuff takes a very distant back seat to one's health (or at least it should).
will just coincidentally happen to the their game in Ann Arbor. Which you can be sure will be an intensely emotional boost for the Spartoons. Ugh.
Don't know if others have posted.
My fav- "Wow. Shame he took 10 years off his life for Michigan State."
