Dan Enos to Central Michigan.

MSU's ace recruiter is headed to Mt. Pleasant. He's been responsible for essentially every instate player the Spartans have landed since Dantonio took over.

The Chips have had great recent success with Brian Kelly and Butch Jones, seems odd to me that they would go with a Spartan. Good for him to get out of East Lansing I guess.

God, I so waited on posting this just to prevent the board from becoming RCMB-East Not ripping on the OP but when 5 of their top 15 posts are about UM, I just hoped this would pass... you know? Like when your buddy and your ex, who you dumped, are getting along really well and you can tell they're happy but deep down you hope they find someone else? And then you stumble in on them in the laundry room doin it? And you close that door and you wanna laugh it off but instead you go up into his room and log onto his computer and look up his ex and find her phone number and text her with something passive... you know... 'oh hey, it's Jeff... you know, Brad's roommate' and you make small talk and meet up with her at a bar. And then 5 cocktails later you both are kinda like "we're in college, it's casual, let's go somewhere." And then you're in a park and shit's getting heavy and you're like "alright! this chick is hot!" But deep down you're thinking "if it weren't for that horse, I wouldn't be spending this year in college..." Yeah, that feeling.

This is slightly off-topic for this thread, but I'm still so curious as to why Johnathan Hankins never got a MSU offer. Enos is all over the state of Michigan, and Hankins was offered by a bevy of the big boy programs, but not Michigan State. That just baffles me.

Win win situation here. Central gets a solid coach with strong recruiting ties to the state; Sparty loses the same. Best of luck to the CHIPS!

Now, that is an intriguing notion. Do you see Dantonio angling for something bigger? Surely, you are not suggesting that the man who has single-handedly changed the perception of MSU football, not to mention the hero who righted the recruiting imbalance with U of M, all the while inspiring in his charges the most Christian of virtues (indeed, striking down with vengeance those, fourteen or so, who stray from the path of righteousness), is in hot water? If so, good sir, I ask you look no further than the Dant-alamo Bowl, where the Spartans notched yet another moral, nay, righteous!, victory, very nearly seizing the day, whilst outmanned by a most unholy, un-Spartan brand of marauders, to see the error of your ways.

As a current Central student, I went to all the games these past two years and I have to agree with Blue-Chip. Butch did a really good job maintaining the success that Kelly instituted and didn't mess up any potential opportunities that the team had. But he didn't really razzle-dazzle with his own style or methods. If it wasn't for this past season and the whole offense being seniors, he might not have even gotten other offers. The jury will always be out as to whether he could have been a successful coach after this season. Most people here like to think so, but we'll never know. Wouldn't surprise me if Cincy did well these next two years then curtailed like Notre Dame did after Weis' second year.

I graduated in 2005, so I only get to see them when they play on ESPN. I get what you're saying, but Jones did a good job of keeping everything clicking. And he seemed like a nice guy. Time will tell if Jones was the real deal. But I liked the results. And I'm envious of you guys seeing a decent team. I had to suffer through the DeBord era, and cover that excuse of a team in 2002.

I think he will be a successful coach -- once he doesn't have the criticism of using other coaches players. He had good recruiting classes for Central and I think we will be able to continue the current success to a degree, but there will always be that asterisk by his name, indicating he had Dan at QB. He did the right thing, taking another job while his stock was high, I don't blame him for that. I just hope that I won't have to suffer through the next 2 seasons much like I did the last two seasons for Michigan (Although I'm not as emotionally/mentally attached to the Chips like I am UofM). Yeah I feel for you. Must have been rough going to games and even afterwards watching Debord take over the Michigan offense. You must've been dying haha

Enos holds the distinct honor of probably being the only guy at MSU to be part of CMU upset victory as both a player and a coach. If you can't beat em, join em!
