Urb almost got Dawson from us but didn't. We are still Michigan and still raid Ohio, but today has sucked...unless you have a macro view.

Wish someone else could have gave the hoops squad their necessary medicine. But flip the home court/field for fb or bb and Mich probably/will beat Ohio in '13 and our dreams as fans are still very much within reach this year and in the coming years. So turn your frowns upside down Mich fans and embrace our positive paradigm.

However IF Michigan lands another elite corner in 2014 and picks up Mcdowell this will be an isolated incident. What cannot happen is Michigan being dragged into recruiting dogfights over local kids. We have to be able to grab the elite local talent and focus our logistics on the elite out of state talent. If OHIO makes us work overtime in our backyard that will be a major win for them and hurt us badly in recruiting overall. We still have to realize that we pull a lot of studs out of OHIO and it works both ways. Can't throw stones in a glass house. Nonetheless it stings to lose a cass tech stud. Urban is a sly S.O.B. but he is Damn good at this recruiting thing. Brady just has to turn up the effort a bit more and continue to win his battles. He has done a great job overall and I think Michigan is a major sleeper in the B1G next year. Stay positive folks. Webb won't break the 2014 class by himself!

Tossing out my allegiances and given comparably talented rosters; I will be absolutely  shocked if Hoke has a .500 winning pct against Meyer, albeit the games will be very close on an annual basis. I do like Hoke, however, there is nothing in Meyer's past, present, or future to indicate to me that he does not have the advantage.

If we lose at home to OSU next year and go into Columbus 0-2 vs. Meyer in 2014, the series could get ugly yet again, However, given his history of burnout, I don't believe Meyer will be at OSU more than 5-6 years.

It makes me sad that kids fall for the cheap, phony, shallow sales pitch that is Urban Meyer. I know it's easy to get caught up in that as a kid. The LeBron James New York Yankees Nike appeal. Anyone over 25 and not a Buckeye fan can see that Meyer is a sleaze bag. I am perfectly happy to have Meyer's hollow glitz be the trademark of Ohio State and Hoke's authenticity and family define Michigan. There wasn't always this aesthetic divide, but its existence now makes it much easier to be a Michigan fan.

Hoke will move from the number 5 class in 2013 to the number 1 class in 2014!  May be we won't go 12-0 but if we can win the B1G then make it back to the Rose Bowl, I think this will help recruiting, especially the top notch skill players!

I think we were 3rd on Webb's list. However, if we beat Ohio then win the B1G, Webb may change his mind. Or there could be another national CB recruit as good or even better we could land!

I'm secretly hoping that Webb tomorrow tweets that he got account hacked and it's all a lie.  Howver, that probably won't happen, and Webb very well does sign with those guys.  To Damon Webb, good luck in your other 11............ oh wait nvm good luck never

Without doing a scientific study, I would venture a guess that most kids who have changed their commitments have at one point said "I'm solid" or "I'm not visiting anywhere else" or "I'm done."  Gareon Conley said that Michigan was his dream offer, and look what happened.

I'm not saying Webb will reconsider, but high school kids' statements should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

OMG, you couldn't even make this stuff up.  Reading all the rationalization on this forum is hysterical!  So, let's see if I have this correct: Meyer is a cheat who only won because tOSU had an easy schedule (BTW, they BEAT Michigan on that schedule so what's tha say about YOUR team), Hoke is going to have the #1 class in 2014 and once Michigan beats Ohio (playing the Bobcats?  We all know how that worked out the last time) players will flock to the program.  Talk about denial!  Face it, you hired your 3rd or 4th choice.  The guy was a .500 coach.  You are about to get owned for ANOTHER decade.

Yes, people are being ridiculous right now, as you should understand.  Similar to your blogs when Kalis flipped.  It's the nature of the rivalry.   However, owned for the next decade?  I think not.  That's pretty hysterical on your part.  I think both sides need to face the FACT that both teams will be powers within the conferance and start winning bowl games again.  Meyer was blessed with a talent filled roster where as Hoke was not.  Both teams will earn top 6 recruiting classes each year and the game will be a tossup every time they meet.

As for Michigan fans, Hoke has a half filled rosted with guys he wants.  He is still making up for position and depth loss due to Rich Rods type of player.  My take on the rivalry, Hoke needs to reel in some freak athletes, especially at the skilled positions.  Ohio State has had a more talented roster for the last decade, hence a great record against us.

I see nothing to suggest that Hoke is building a team to compete with tOSU.  He has a BUNCH of O-linemen.  Good for him.  But I see nothing else.  He was a .500 coach against relative competition.  Why would you expect that to change?  BTW, are you trying to say that Meyer had HIS players awaiting him at tOSU?  He had spread players?  Hardly.  He inherited a 6-7 team and made them 12-0.  THAT is coaching.

If you can't see something great being put together in Ann Arbor, you're as hysterical as a Michigan fan on a bad day.  Yes, a great OL haul in 2012 and 2013, but great defensive players and offensive guys too.  You do know that several Michigan commits had an OSU offer, right?

It's going to be a back and forth decade, so get used to it.  That goes for Michigan fans as well.

Not saying Michigan was better than OSU this year because they aren't, but for the record on the schedule thing. FEI rates OSU's schedule for this year as 65th and Michigan's as 3rd.

Secondly, you used the argument about Hoke being a .500 coach. However, this completely takes context away. Hoke coached Ball State for 6 years. In the 6 years prior to his arrival, Ball State was 22-45 (.328). In his six years, Ball State went 34-39 (.466). Under .500 yes, but considering where they came from that's a massive improvement. As for SDSU, they were possibly even worse off. The five years before Hoke's arrival saw an 18-41 stretch (.305). In two short years, Hoke did manage to get to 13-12. That's almost matching a 5 year stretch in 2 years.

And no, Michigan is not about to get owned for a decade again. In the two seasons Hoke has been here, Michigan beat Ohio in a close home game and lost a close road game. Getting beat for most of the prior decade is just one of those things that happens sometimes. It just happened to Ohio the decade prior. Try to have some sort of reasoning skills, memory, or reasonable arguments that use things such as logic and maybe you will actually be able to stay here and talk. But if you would like to troll, your account won't last anyways, so whatever. Do what you want.

So how'd all those predictions of flipping Damon Webb turn out? And Michigan winning by 21 points in November? And calling Urban Meyer a sleaze bag and Brady Hoke a family man.... Last time I checked, Urban suspended two of his best players at the beginning of the year and Brady Hoke covered for Brendan Gibbons. Whoo must be great to be such a delusional fan base. Michigan Men, the best in the land!
