Damon Webb Commits to OSU
We may have went 12-0, but most likely wouldn't have. They had a soft schedule, but IMO the coaching staff prepared and adjusted adequately enough to have an undefeated season. Urban stated his revelation after beating us last year (a revelation that was fueled by the subpar victory, if you ask me) that he thought Ohio could measure up to any team in the nation; that they were playing as well or well enough to beat ANYONE.
This was and is a stretch from the truth, but when it comes down to The Game and the rivalry, Ohio seems to have carried a more tenacious understanding of it as of late (save 2011).
Also, the recruiting is, unfortunately, very debatable up to this point. Urban is creating some talented classes, especially within the "skill" positons and generally on defense.
Stats are huge, and OSU has went 25-4 in football/basketball combined since 04'. Sporadic, yes. But this is unacceptable.
Has "gone".... Please never use the word " went" again.
Get real. Even in our best years, going undefeated was damn near impossible. We only made it to 11-0 twice in the modern era (97 and 06) and only once did we finish 12-0. Ohio has made it to 11-0 three times in the last 11 seasons alone (02, 06, 12). The fact that they did it this year with a relatively weak team is analogous to what we did in Hoke's first year (11-2), only better. We are getting ourselves back to a more level playing field with Ohio but we are not there yet. Bill Parcells once said, "You are what your record says." Over the past decade, our record against Ohio says we suck, and we have clearly been the inferior team of the two. If you disagree, name me any other situation in sports you've heard of where one team won 2 out of 10 games against its opponent and still had any legitimate ground or basis for claiming to be the better team.
I don't care about Webb. I worry far more about Urban Meyer having the pull to close on recruits the caliber of Derrick Green and Lequan Treadwell in states where Michigan can't get a sniff of the upper echelon talent. If he does a lot of that over the long haul, we are screwed.
"60 percent of the time.....it works every time."
I generally get irrationally upset about sports, but I'm not going to get upset about one player going to Ohio State.
You? Irrationally upset about sports? Seriously though, you're reaction to this is proof of how far you've come in less than two weeks, Mr. Yost. The Ultimate Meltdown has become The Ultimate Voice of Reason. Training completed you have. Jedi knight you are.

Just go back.

Will we ever regularly beat ohio in anything again?
There is god, there is family, and then there is MICHIGAN FOOTBALL
It is one thing for a Cass guy to go somewhere else if Michigan offers...it is another thing when a Cass kid goes to OSU and commits over a year from his signing day.
3-3-5 til the day I die y'all
Does that mean he wants an easy road to a degree?
Having the number 1 recruiting class means nothing without good coaches to mold the players into champions!
What he meant was, ""Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL classes are POINTLESS."
“When your team is winning, be ready to be tough, because winning can make you soft. On the other hand, when your team is losing, stick by them. Keep believing” - Bo Schembechler
If this is true, then I am glad he will not be a Michigan Wolverine.
Citing academics as a reason means he's either mistaken or just not that bright. Since he's only a high school junior, I'm assuming he's mistaken.
You can't fault a kid for wanting to go to a school where he might be able to pass.
OSU is a hot ticket right now, but I don't believe this one is even close to over.
Obviously this is not good news, but for a kid that was originally going to wait another year or so to make his decision, I would rather this happen now than 12 months from now for 2 reasons:
1. As the saying goes, a verbal commitment just tells you who the competition is especially with more than a year until signing day. More than enough time to try to flip him. And would be much sweeter if we get him that way.
2. If this commitment is solid, at least the coaches know now instead of having to scramble to fill the spot a couple weeks before Signing Day.
A Cass Tech kid going to OSU/?? you sure this isn't a high school kid a little worked up over the basketball game?
*an Ohio state buckeye. They're not going to fix your bad grammar there.
I'm legitimately shocked by this. Dong punch indeed. Long way to go though.
"Michigan Defense" is dominating everything, in every aspect of life. That's a rough definition.

In sure he will visit Ann Arbor a few more times in the next year.If we don't get him then we go for somebody else.
"Are you an official here?Because you've officially given me a boner."
All the Cass Tech players we have got dont ever do shit..Boo Boo, Big Will, Teric,Delonte...I felt Webb was the best of them and watch him be..Michigan needs to go back to the drawing board with the way we handle the Rivalry..go on and flamebait me it dont matter. And Webb citing Academics makes me sick
I agree FIRE EVERYONE!! even if michigan has the highest recruiting class ever this year
If you don't like Michigan you are a peasant
I dont mean fire people..i am talking build a fucking fire inside these people to not only beat OSU but physically punish them on the field and court..we dont play them the way they play us..OSU got Eli Apple,Conley,Cam all 6'1 and 6'2 CBs...what does Michigan get ??? a bunch of 5'9 CBs and a "under the radar" taller CB..I am to the point i dont give a shit if we lose every game WE HAVE TO BEAT OHIO !
4* Jourdan Lewis is almost 6' and 4* Ross Douglass is 5'10. We have two 4* safeties who are 6'1.
If you don't like Michigan you are a peasant
Thomas Gordon disagrees.
Thank you Mags for kinda sorta...yeah ok il give you a point..He has been solid..And for Sheridan almost 5'11 or almost 5'10 is not 6'1 or 6'2 size like OSUs group of incoming CBs..its obvious Hoke wants the big CBs but we are having a hell of a time landing them..we really need Stribling to excell because we are undersized at the position..If you blitz the way Mattison does you need good size CBs who can cover 1 on 1..Webb has nice size for his age and would have been a great land..the fact he was in our backyard is what hurts
Okay you cant get EXACTLY what you want each and every class. Ohio State needs numbers in the o-line and only have 2 committed (correct me if im wrong) and yet we have 6 o-line commits, with 5 of them being blue chip. Jourdan Lewis and Ross Douglas aren't a bunch of scrubs and we don't know about terry richardson yet. You do not get every recruit in your backyard (Kalis, McCray, Thomas, Smith). Does it suck to miss out on this kid? Yes. But this does not mean we need to have a meltdown just because our corners do not have richard sherman size.
If you don't like Michigan you are a peasant
Just assuming that we will flip him...you guys sound like the buckeye fans who thought they could flip dymonte. Kid is a buckeye now, so move on from it.

How did Tressel "acquire" his players again?
