how do we get "near lock" from this? I'm so ready for a commitment "Hello" post. What's the consensus on when we will get our next commit? Before Monday?

I'm assuming with more visits on campus there is a decent chance, however anyone who hasn't decided until now may wait until signing day, unless it's a committment flip, even then, they may want to go home and think it over.

I predict a lot of NSD decisions, and a corresponding 403 explosion.

Agree that most are waiting for NSD to actually voice their decision, however, I believe this weekend will provide a couple commitments (depending on how it goes of course). I believe the next commitments will be from people flipping to ensure they have a spot due to limited ones available in this class.
My money is on Gentry. Think he's seriously done with UT and wants to take this spot. Jones and Williams also are high probabilities as both are necessary for this class and/or Harbaugh offense. Personally, I think one of the TE and CB will also "pull the trigger" as there may only be one available to first comer.

I am surprised there is no halfback-type RB seriously mentioned so far. Thought it would be a good opportunity for a talent with our "older" RBs presently. (Especially so with Weber and the 3 RBs this year at OSU and 2 to possibly 3 more next year set up.) Anyone else hazard a guess?

This is not directed specifically at MichiganSports, but I long for the days when the credibility of the material I read is greater than a 50/50 shot.  Tom VH is a friend and was responsible for getting me to join MGoBlog years ago and while I don't post much, I've really enjoyed the blog over the years for both its information and entertainment value.  However, it now seems the majority of posts are speculation disguised as information and not nearly as enjoyable.  I'm sure someone is going to tell me that if I don't like it I can leave - and they're right.  I just hope I don't have to.  Thanks and Go Blue!

Honestly, this is more about the times we live in than this blog specifically. As you saw during the coaching change its the same shit from all these "insiders" across the country. When tomvh was here there were few people doing that type of work and it has since proliferated with many amateur recruitniks and others basically telling people what they want to hear. It's not unique to mgoblog or Michigan or whatever. It's nationwide.

Have to agree with you on this growing trend. It is clearly a reflection of how social media has given everyone a voice. This has prompted recutting writers to fluff up their content with opinions and innuendos. If we still want to find the content as readers we have to sift through a lot mor info to discern the facts.

He comes from a premier program here in the sunshine state and he seems to have an "it" factor to him based on some of his quotes and mannerisms. He could really take off in a Michigan environment. I really hope we land this kid. I think Iman ends up at USC or FSU so this kid could be a near must get.

It is worth getting him if for nothing else to start building a path of players up north with this HS which is the top NFL powerhouse in the country (10 guys in the league right now).   Urban has been there a long time and we need to begin chipping away.  The fact he fills a position of need and looks quite promising sure helps.  Dream duo in this class at CB would be him and Williamson (well Iman of course but more realistically).

Too many people with Maize colored glasses seeing any mention of Michigan as a sure thing.  There will be few surprises, but hopefully some very encouraging news in the next week.  Getting some verbals now to break the ice would be very helpful.

This late of a start is just hard to overcome, but if it can be done, Coach is the one.
