Damien Harris Will Visit for BBQ
In other news that means nothing, Damien was seen wearing a UM hat while arriving at the open. It's no secret Michigan is trailing right now, but a bounce back season on the field, and more interaction with Nussmeier can only improve our chances. If the young man is truly a life long Michigan fan, then a coordinator leaving that had been there for less than 4 years shouldn't make you de-commit. They just need to remind him why he loved Michigan to begin with; still an uphill battle.

Doesn't guarantee anything, but I feel slightly better seeing him in a Michigan hat than an OSU hat. Not enough to feel confident by any means, just better than that gag I'd feel if he was in those other colors.

I'm kind of surprised that people are so quick to write Harris off. We were definitely not Derrick Green's # 1 in July two years ago and we were supposedly # 1 for Dashawn Hand last July. There's a long way to go and if we beat Ohio or have a 10-2 type season I would be surprised if he's not back.
a kid with his level of talent has to chose a school beyond what he or she had be a life long fan of. if the program won't help him develop further for the pro game more than another school... then so be it. now if he wanted to use his football skills to get into a really good school to earn an academic degree. then that's another story.
I think this is better than him not attending.
It's a good sign that, this long after Harris decommitted, he's still talking about Michigan having a chance. Most of the time kids who decommit just move on. There's still something about Michigan that Damien finds special and getting him back on campus is a very good thing. Every time he has visited he has come away feeling good and the BBQ always seems to be a big event. Lets just hope Michigan gets his last OV.
