Da' Shawn Hand Visit??
Why do we have to go over this every time?
When there is something to know, it will be posted on the board.
This is funny because, actually, there was good news to learn and it wasn't posted. Instead we learned it in this thread, the kind of thread people like to complain about. Who'd a thunk it?
damn, next time throw a question mark at the end of your title. I had the impression you were going to be telling us how the visit went
My thoughts exactly.
This makes my eyes water.
this was supposed to be in reply to ISMELLSEXY's post
OSU can suck it.
I'll put a good word in for us, Da'Shawn seems like a good guy from my experience.
Apparently he is considering changing from engineering to sports management after meeting with the dean of the sports management program. Michigan is set either way academically having excellent programs for both majors, but could eliminate other schools (i.e. VaTech) that do not offer sports management programs.
That's smart recruiting right there.
TomVH said sports marketing. I have a feeling he got that wrong because "Dean of Sports Management" actually sounds real, "Dean of Sports Marketing" sounds less real.
You can't play football and even think about attempting engineering
Mark Huyge disagrees
Since you asked I'll let you in on all the top secret recruiting gems I have.
Miss Lippy's car.... Is green
Billy likes soda
Bet you didn't see the Revolting Blob coming.
You crazy. Please expand.
I talked with his coach as soon as they hit the road to leave Ann Arbor.
Which gas station do work at?
I kicked a stray dog..
Any updates coach brown?
Says another account..
Visited this weekend? This is huge!
People crap on these kinds of posts - and fine, I get it - but I almost always learn something from them and get at least a laugh or two along the way.
Holy crap. An actual honest-to-goodness actual response with information and everything!
Who'd a thunk it?
This I like.

Demetrius Knox @meechy77 @CoachBrown3 talking bad about a recruits home state and school probably isn't the smartest idea if you want them to come to your school..
Demetrius Knox @meechy77 If Jim tressel was at Ohio state I'd commit right now.....
Demetrius Knox @meechy77 Another good talk with coach Warinner #GoBucks
Negative recruiting? Typical from tsun fans. They follow Hoke's lead, That's par for the course at tsun.
"Coach" Brown is pathetic and classless.

You should call your blog Coach BlockHead or something of that nature. It's a little scary that these children think you are somehow involved with the university. Trolling an under aged child on twitter.. Really?
You're an awful jackass and shouldn't be contacting these children at all.
They know that I have nothing to do with the university, I make sure to tell them that up front.
I admit that saying that back in July of last year was very ill-advised which is why I personally spoke with Demetrius later that day to apologize. That was a couple of months after I started the blog and didn't take it very seriously. I have since been very aware when it comes to stuff like that. As for the Berger comment, I was told by a personal acquaintance of his that the stuff at OSU was rubbing him the wrong way so I asked him about it. I sincerely don't try to do anything negative and understand that if thousands of people read what I write some people will take it that way. Comes with the territory. The thing with Knox, WAS classless and unprofessional and since I've started taking my site very seriously I have done nothing close to that. Bravo to whoever looked through thousands of my tweets to find legitimate information though. I actually respect you making a point like that.
"Berger also told me that the current investigation at Ohio State will not affect his decision at all as he doesn't even know that much about it. That may be the case right now, but if it blows up he might be forced to pay attention to it."
Wow... I love it when bloggers negatively recruit for Michigan.
George: I have no Hand! No Hand at all! How do I get the Hand?
Jerry: We all love the Hand! Hand is tough to get. You gotta get the Hand right from the opening!
Coach Brown at the MBlock has a bit of info for you.
We all like.
First place... A new Cadillac
Second place... Set of steak knives
Is coach brown an actual coach?
He is the best corch.
to be the best corch or best croch?
I coach high school basketball and football. Not trying to promote myself as a coach necessarily, but I originally created my Facebook and twitter account as a way for my players and students to get in touch with me...just kinda stuck.
Magnus is more legit than you..
coach on this blog! I coached the '27 Yankees and the '68 Green Bay Packers.......
not even you could fix some of the problems the 2008 Michigan defense had.
Not sure who that is but he might be. Like I just said I do coach but nothing major.
Goddamnit, the day Hoke and Mattison came to Ann Arbor, they rolled in the door like this:
And they have been killing it ever since. Love those two's recruiting talents
You win the internets.
Did Hand like the seafood?
I +1'd you. Apparently everyone else thought it a euphamism.
I think everything is a euphemism.
Including this post.
I can't imagine a better game for a recruit to visit than Michigan ND under the lights. The last one was just an unreal experience
I just posted reactions from the other visitors if anyone is interested. Every time I post something I seem to get blasted but some people may actually want to read it, haha. www.themblock.com
You bring great info to the board, why would you get blasted? So you promote your site.. How are you different than Magnus or six zero? Post on the front page as far as I'm concerned.
I think you have some of the same problems a lot of Michigan and Ohio State fans/bloggers who want to be recruiting reporters have. You can't seperate your fandom from your reporting.
I think you're a violation waiting to happen.
I like your work, Coach Brown. Keep it going, don't listen to the haters
You need to up your professional demeaner if you want to be taken more seriously. As elaydin wrote above, your UM slant is too easily visible and it makes it very difficult to read your information sometimes.
You have done a good job of getting information and establishing relationships; just remember that such privilege comes with responsibility, and I think that is what is making some people on this site nervous.
Most of the time, your updates and writing style are far too presumptious. If you look at TomVH, although adequate, he isn't exactly Ernest Hemingway when it comes to writing ability. However, Tom very obviously has a professional code and he sticks to it. It's much of what makes him successful and a big reason why recruits trust him, year after year. If you want to avoid problems down the road and want to be taken more seriously, then you need to do the same.
I'm not trying to be a dick about it, but obviously you're trying to make a go at the recruiting business so hopefully you can take some of the criticism you receive from mgobloggers and use it to become better at it.
I guess I just don't see it in my own writing. I always try to include info about other schools if its relevant. I usually include what I think will happen with a recruit whether it's pro-Michigan or not. It just so happens that I usually report about players that are most popular among Michigan circuits. Nobody wants to hear about/from a kid who has no interest in Michigan. Of course I am a fan, but I don't rah-rah about stuff on my site and I don't even pump up Michigan when I talk to recruits. I guess without any actual examples of what you say I do, I'm just blind to it. I'm more than willing to adjust for the better but I'm honestly not sure what adjustments are needed.
Hang em up then.
His visit was very positive. He knows a few guys from the camp circuit and Ferns came up just to meet him. He spent a good deal of time with the players, and a lot of 1 on 1 time with the coaches. The sports marketing program really piqued his interest, and the academic side was I prestige as well. He knew almost nothing about the program before visiting, so it was very enlightening. He was also thrilled to meet and talk with Denard.
