D. Warren on the NCAA Investigation

Submitted by Trepps on

"Warren said several NFL teams asked him about the NCAA allegations facing Michigan for excessive practice time.

'I just said I didn’t feel like we were doing anything wrong,” Warren said. “I felt like we was doing everything by the book and guys were just out there working hard.'

This may have gotten lost in the hoops melt-down but I liked Warren's response. He probably should have stayed in school another year, but at least he didn't trash the program on the way out like too many others have.

Agreed. Wish Warren had stayed, but glad he stayed classy on the way out. He seemed to give the impression that he wasn't a huge fan of RR and I always thought that had something to do with him declaring early, but I'm glad he's staying true to the program.

this was going to be another Morgan Trent like quote. Very good response from D Warren. Always seemed like a classy kid and I would have definitely loved seeing him in the winged helmet for another year.

gave a lot to Michigan (he did not sign up to play for RR, or for Lloyd to retire his freshman year).

He played safety when asked and maybe should have stayed (for his own benefit), but I'm not sure why people have a negative undertone when talking about him.

i don't know his reasoning, but i wonder if the collision he had during the season helped to convince him that he'd better get on a payroll before he gets hurt

Warren did everything he could while he was here, and I can't blame him for wanting to get paid in the NFL. It's easy to think you'd be able to ignore the lure of the cash, but especially with the chance of injury it's easier to believe. I hope he has a fantastic career and continues to represent Michigan well.
