Ricardo Effing Miller. Way to help recruit for Michigan.
Player recruiting (especially with familial ties) is definitely a huge strength to the team, especially in creating pipeline schools too (see: Pahokee).
as Tom VH is to reporting of the same.
If Ricardo is as good at WR as he is at recruiting, he's going to win the Heisman.
If Ricardo is as good at WR as he is at recruiting, he's going to win the Heisman.
Twice.
Twice
Edit: Oops, my bad, didn't see the above post
What did he smell like?
Endzone Turf.
Because he's a MAN.
Endzone Turf works, though.
Doesn't Old Spice make something called Red Zone?
I love the smell of touchdowns in the morning.
I just left, and saw them in there too! Gave them all a Go Blue. They happily responded back with a hearty Go Blue. Nick Patti is there with them as well.
Is there a point where that's not legal? For example, is it okay to eat together, but not okay for the college player to buy?
Whether or not it's against the letter of the law, I highly doubt any school would get in trouble if one player bought another play a burger or a basket of chicken fingers. Especially if they are ex-teammates and family friends.
These rules are to keep players from getting real benefits from going to one school over another. A free 13 dollar dinner is not going to raise any eyebrows.
Believe it or not Ricardo can't even give him a ride to the Brown Jug and back, much less pick up the tab.
I'm not 100% sure on this, but my understanding is that even on unofficial visits, the school can pay for certain expenses like food.
but ricardo, dee hart, and nick patti were friends before dee and nick's recruitment so ricardo is not looked at as a booster. (assuming he's paying, which i doubt. nick patti's father is there i'd imagine he's the one paying)
Hmm, learn something new every day.
So how does the school get away with things like BBQ at the Big House then? I doubt many students were using that as their official visit.
as it is before the season. because it is an on-campus event they're allowed to feed them. if it were across the street at pioneer they wouldn't be allowed to. you were correct in that aspect.
Believe it or not, the recruits actually have to pay a small fee. It's crazy.
The recruits/parent pay for the meals served at the BBQ.
I didnt know Milton Friedman was a member of this blog, hey when is this recession going to end?
He will be sorely missed in the world of macroeconomic academia. (Sounds like a disease, doesn't it??)
Good to see he made it and Ricardo's hanging out with him. Them being so close is huge for us here. Come on Demetrius, come to Michigan! Look at all the OL we're recruiting for you to run behind!
To be fair we don't have a Jake Long on the line...
No one else in college football has "a Jake Long" on the line because he's a pro lineman now.
But, Michigan doesn't have "a Taylor Lewan," it has.....TAYLOR LEWAN. Saddle up.
Jack Miller, Jake Fisher, Jake Ryan (wrong position, I know, but ...) I put the blame squarely on brand new parents surnamed Long who didn't anticipate our needs 17-18 years ago.
Do you tell people at their birthday parties that they are just another year closer to death? Some good things are happening in Michigan, ride it out, enjoy it even.
...of current OL and recruits who are just as highly rated as Jake was when he came out of Lapeer East.
I'd very much like to pick up that tab, but, uh, I won't.
I hope he can redshirt and let V. Smith and crew do their thing. Although I'm hard pressed to believe a player of his caliber won't see the field as a true freshman.
Even with the running backs we have, it's very unlikely Hart redshirts.
that he eats at the Brown Jug for the next 4-5 years but I also hope that he is eventually able to order something off the menu that is named after him.
A lot of great food on that menu. A lot of great football players on that menu.
A 1/2 lbs burger, open faced, topped with chili, three types of cheese, bacon and drenched in ranch with a load of fries (or onion rings) topped the exact same way.
My cholesterol went up just from reading that comment.
Hope they packed their galoshes!
Hope they both enjoy the thunderstorms headed our way. See, we're not that much different than Florida. What's that you say about Winter? Nah man, they are... ummm...Hey did you know, our helmets have wings?
On a serious note, great news they're checking out the local flair. Can't wait to see him in maize 'n blue.
Ricardo Miller is quickly becoming one of my favorite Wolverines without having played a down. It makes me wonder if any other guys on the team are putting that level of work into promoting Michigan.
I really should get one, but I feel like the only person I'd be following is you anyways.
I would like to inform you that I took the plunge and joined Twitter for TomVH updates. Thanks for all the hard work, Tom!
Thank you.
I joined Twitter for TomVH updates which I get sent to my PHONE. It's like subscribing to scout, rivals, AND comedy central all in one.
Not true! I joined Twitter specifically for updates on my Blackberry!
You can't get the real Brown Jug experience without blacking out and stealing a cardboard cutout of a bikini-clad beer selling babe, sprinting home and then instantly passing out so your friends can take embarassing pictures of you with said cutout... not that that ever happened to me.
As long as the cover charge wasn't waived, it is not a recruiting violation...
Proclamation from Brown Jug website: "Since opening in 1938, The Brown Jug has earned the reputation of serving quality, fresh food in a clean, friendly, family atmosphere."
