Current player reactions of the Harbaugh hire?

Submitted by Duval Wolverine on

We all know that the fan base, former players, and recruits are all excited about Jim Harbaugh as the new Michigan Head Coach, but has anyone heard anything or seen anything on social media about reactions from current players on the Michigan team?

He is also super excited...

I don't have a Twitter, but I'll google search someone elses and read (particularly on days like yesterday) and Malzone is ready to be in Ann Arbor and a Wolverine through and through.

Chris Clark also seems like it's a Michigan/UCLA battle with him, I think we win that one.

I get a sneaky feeling this Mike Weber thing is not over if Harbaugh and co. want him. I think if we push hard enough, he'll flip back to Michigan.

I'm just interested to see what the new board looks like.

This kid seems like the exact type of QB that's going to excel under Harbaugh's tutelage.  Plus, Malzone was a Michigan fan and committed to the program, not the staff.  He of all the current recruits probably knows the most about who Harbaugh is.

I was listening to Michigan Insider this morning and they interviewed him about the Harbaugh hire since he came in on the heels of Harbaugh. I'm sure Ira regretted that call. He seemed so bitter the whole time. He really just wanted to talk about his play. Dude needs counseling.

He did seem rough around the edges but I'll cut him some slack as it's probably difficult to follow JH and still be thought of as in his shadow all these years later.  I also think he made a valid point aboutwhat's gone on with picking and choosing what former players are worth being part of the program (paraphrasing here).

I will agree though, he did seem to have a chip on his shoulder.

Demetrious Brown followed Harbaugh, not Taylor.  Taylor followed Brown after Brown imploded and was not back for his Senior year.

Too bad because Brown was a better QB than Taylor, IMO.  Was mobile and threw a very nice long ball.  Taylor was more of a pure option guy, ala Stanley Jackson at OSU.

He's pretty bitter about life for whatever reason.  I'd rather not have toxic people like that around the program at all anymore.

I do agree with what he said previously about the way that former players were treated under Brandon.  I friend of mine played basketball there in the early/mid 80's (you'd know his name), and he was jumping for joy when Brandon was fired.

Hopefully Hackett fixes everything that DB tainted.

I'd imagine they're relieved just to know they have a coach once again, and probably even quietly excited to know it's a guy with college and NFL success. But I doubt we'll hear too much of it, as I'd also imagine they're not inclined to look like they're going crazy celebrating the replacement of the man who recruited them.

Ojemudia: "Now that it's official, let's get back to work!"

Pipkins:  "Today marks a new era!!! Time to put this block M back on top where it should be."  (Yes, but how is his Harbaugh impression?)

I realize this thread is about current players but recruiting threads have gone on to the next page and I can't start a new thread and thought this was share-worthy:

The coach that brought them in got whacked, in spite of (maybe partly because of) being a nice guy.  Their new coach is a successful college and NFL coach who is the hottest coaching commodity in years. They know that he's going to be intense and he's going to kick their asses. They also know they now have a much better chance to be winners next year and in years going forward than they did with the previous coaching staff.  How are they not going to be excited?
