Cullen & Dior?
Saw Tom's post about Cullen, but was curious if Cullen's interest has any effect on our recruitment of Dior. Dior said he loved the ND game, and rumors we're swirling we were back in his top tier, or perhaps never left. It seems like Mathis is a little lower ranked, but would they come together, or if Cullen came do you think Dior would want to go elsewhere. Dior also mentioned that he noticed the possibility of getting on the field earlier. Thoughts...

... for a perfume.

Sounds like a brand of purse that I'm not cool enough to have heard of.

Take em both.

Take em both... and get a couple ILBs too.

Will they both come?

to say he's just another short CB from Cass Tech who will "OMG TOTALLY SUCK" like Cissoko.

There are 3 likely options - Christian, Mathis, and Grimes. I would expect we only take two and focus on the defensive line and some LB's. So who does Michigan prefer? Also haven't heard much on Rashad Knight lately although he is supposedly an Illinois lean.

2-3. At least.

I believe we will see some of our offensive tweeners move to db at some point. We have quite a few recievers in our last two classes. The ones don't stand out there may move to help our secondary if we miss out on our DB recruits. Many of these recievers/running backs play both sides on the ball in high school anyway.

There's a large stochastic element in recruiting, but the other day when the LB kid picked WVU over us had me thinking.
Maybe the reason that happened is that the WVU coaching staff told him that Rich Rod was still there.....
Some of these kids, let's face it, aren't the brightest bulbs in the pack - I really wonder how much out and out deception goes on. Do sports facilities have fake pics of NFL studs in their teams jerseys?

Gloster picked West Virginia because Michigan put him on the backburner.

Take Christian and convince him to play safety.
Let Mathis go elsewhere.
Convince Grimes and Knight to come to Michigan.

I like it!

Exactly, if we can get Grimes and/or Knight I'd let Mathis go.

with taking those guys, i'd put knight at safety though
EDIT: now we just have to hope FSU gets lamarcus joyner and doesn't offer knight

Off subject but man he is good. He was an absolute beast in the Byrnes game and looks like he could actually play some offense at times too in college.

So that would put us at 5 DB recruits including Avery and Talbott. What are your impressions of Avery and Talbott anyway?

Are you talking about our 2009 and 2008 classes, or are you talking about the 2010 and 2009 classes?
Of our past two classes, I don't know who could move to CB that isn't already there. And in the 2010 class, the two guys who could play DB are Jerald Robinson (who would be a safety, if anything) and D.J. Williamson (who, in my opinion, shouldn't play anything for Michigan).

I've seen/read very little on him--he's obviously fast but is he that bad??

I think Knight could be a good corner or a good safety. I just think he breaks on the ball well and could be one of those guys who consistently dislodges the ball from an unaware receiver. I'm a huge fan of Knight.

Williamson is fast and that's about it. I don't think any other FBS schools have offered him yet, either.

My impression of Avery is that he will never get off the bench. I think he'd be an okay corner in zone, but I think he'll fare poorly in man coverage on the next level.
I'm not all that impressed with Talbott, either, but I think he has more upside than Avery.
