Cullen & Dior?

Submitted by mrjblock24 on
Saw Tom's post about Cullen, but was curious if Cullen's interest has any effect on our recruitment of Dior. Dior said he loved the ND game, and rumors we're swirling we were back in his top tier, or perhaps never left. It seems like Mathis is a little lower ranked, but would they come together, or if Cullen came do you think Dior would want to go elsewhere. Dior also mentioned that he noticed the possibility of getting on the field earlier. Thoughts...

There are 3 likely options - Christian, Mathis, and Grimes. I would expect we only take two and focus on the defensive line and some LB's. So who does Michigan prefer? Also haven't heard much on Rashad Knight lately although he is supposedly an Illinois lean.

I believe we will see some of our offensive tweeners move to db at some point. We have quite a few recievers in our last two classes. The ones don't stand out there may move to help our secondary if we miss out on our DB recruits. Many of these recievers/running backs play both sides on the ball in high school anyway.

There's a large stochastic element in recruiting, but the other day when the LB kid picked WVU over us had me thinking. Maybe the reason that happened is that the WVU coaching staff told him that Rich Rod was still there..... Some of these kids, let's face it, aren't the brightest bulbs in the pack - I really wonder how much out and out deception goes on. Do sports facilities have fake pics of NFL studs in their teams jerseys?

Are you talking about our 2009 and 2008 classes, or are you talking about the 2010 and 2009 classes? Of our past two classes, I don't know who could move to CB that isn't already there. And in the 2010 class, the two guys who could play DB are Jerald Robinson (who would be a safety, if anything) and D.J. Williamson (who, in my opinion, shouldn't play anything for Michigan).

I think Knight could be a good corner or a good safety. I just think he breaks on the ball well and could be one of those guys who consistently dislodges the ball from an unaware receiver. I'm a huge fan of Knight.

My impression of Avery is that he will never get off the bench. I think he'd be an okay corner in zone, but I think he'll fare poorly in man coverage on the next level. I'm not all that impressed with Talbott, either, but I think he has more upside than Avery.
