Cullen Christian Sets Announcement Date According to Scout
Apparently, a team that wasn't previously in the mix has now re-entered the scene as a contender in Cullen's recruitment. I'm not a premium member so I'm not able to get the full story, only the header.

"It is a good sign when a prospect schedules his announcement shortly after he visits your school."
As the sage Vanessa Williams once said, he saving the best for last.

The Pirates he wants to play for the MLB equivalent of the Lions

By It's Pittsburgh, do you mean that's who he has chosen or they're the team that's gotten back into the picture. I just read an article where he states Michigan is still the leader.

I don't know how Pittsburgh was out of it.

This would be the Tuesday after THE GAME, FWIW. I have a feeling he'll be there.

I didn't think Pitt was really ever out of the picture. Every time I read an article on Christian, the article basically said "Michigan is the leader but he's also considering Pitt, Maryland, etc."

but he said on several occasions (link goes to one of the more recent) that Pitt was a good school but was "too close to home". I wouldn't be surprised if that has changed.

I'd be willing to bet any amount of money that he will not pick whatever team he "added".

i think this announcement date is good for us. the sooner the better. and in the article he maintains we lead.

He had continually stated that he wanted to wait until an All-American game to make his announcement. Has he been invited to either of the AA games?

It's just a guess, but I suspect the sequencing of events leading up to the Scout article went something like this. Pitt reporter/stringer/writer calls or sees Christian. The reporter says something like I guess Pitt's no longer in it. Christian says no, they're still in it, but Michigan is still my leader. Pitt writer looking for good news writes that we're still in it. Next thing you know, it's on the Scout website.

Anyone else pick up on Irish's new-found post-UM/ND cynicism? It's like night and day with before the game.
Ask your doctor about Zoloft.

really long "Why ND will win" diaries, so maybe he's just unhappy about all of the work for nothing.

I have noticed the saltiness.

Speaking of Christian, have we cooled off on our recruitment of his teammate Brandon Ifill? I think that there was an article recently that said he number 1 was Maryland.
October 1st, 2009 at 11:24 AM ^
I think it's more that he wants a chance to play WR (which Maryland is selling) as opposed to only being a safety (which Michigan is selling).

Ifill wants to play receiver and we want him as a safety.
Also, he's not very good, so let's not worry about him.
