Critiquing "thosewhostay7" as a Source.

Submitted by State Street on

Brian has vouched for this guy, twice, on the front page.  However, if you go back far enough in his twitter feed, it appears he's a weird highschool kid who loves tweeting at recruits.

I don't know what Brian has on the guy, but an explanation would be nice, especially considering the gravity of the stuff he's posting.  You don't just go from doing the above to eloquently narrating a backroom, high stakes contract negotiation overnight from a "source" that happens to be an NFL agent.

Look, I agree with you guys that he doesn't seem to be the most credible source. However, stating that you believe what someone is saying is not the same thing as vouching for what they are saying is correct, hence his statement "I'm not saying it's gospel, but it is a data point"

With so little useful information out there, he's putting anything that is remotely credible on the front page. If he's fully vetting everything that he puts on the front page, then he has nothing to publish because no one knows jackshit in this search.

Isn't he vouching for him here:

"I find the react posted by thosewhostay7 to be pretty credible;

That's not the first time he's called him "credible" either:

OKAY. I'M IN. Ran across a twitter feed that felt credible that claimed a connect to Harbaugh's agent, but I was hesitant to tell you guys about it until he put something out that was checkable and not public knowledge. Here's something from 4 PM today:

Maybe this guy really is legit and Brian is correct to believe him. For the time being, his other tweets on that site make me have my doubts.

We might learn more tomorrow. A poster on the "edge of the internet", the same poster who posted the text about "getting the band back together", is saying that Harbaugh's agent is flying to Ann Arbor tomorrow. Those Who Stay says he isn't. Who will be correct?

Of course, we may not know, unless a "source" confirms that his agent has arrived in Ann Arbor sometime tomorrow.

I don't really trust what he says but does anyone know if it is weird for agents to fly without clients? I would imagine it wouldn't be that wierd when things need to get done (other than final signatures). However, why wouldn't Hackett fly out to meet the agent?

This coaching search has been draining. I am not sure if its better or worse than waking up 48 hours later and having a new coach like Nebraska. We shall see...

Rockie, the EoI poster, has a long track record on the Victors Board and Board 5. He's known to have real inside info, and he is very open with about his technological limitations (he copy and pastes emails directly from his source). He's an older dude who was a roadie for a hair metal band in the 80's... I'm sure he ain't tweeting.

Rockie, by his own admission, is a 50-60 year old bus driver who can barely use the dinosaur tech that Board 5 runs on. The idea of him begging for follow backs from teenagers is silly.

I don't think Brian ever 'vouched' for him. He just pointed out that some things he tweeted relating to the coaching search seem to line up with other credible sources. I don't know where you got that Brian is telling everyone random twitter is gospel.

Nobody, not even Harbaugh himself knows if Harbaugh will take the job.  Hundreds of folks tweeting speculative bs, he probably is no different.  Just don't follow him or others and wait for press conference if want 100% accuracy.

As someone else mentioned, Harbaugh may be going back to the dual agent approach he used last time.  One agent worked the NCAA side and the other handled his NFL offers.  I think it's pretty clear that Thosewhostay7 is purporting to know the NFL dude Dunn.  In that case both could be correct.  The college agent could be coming tomorrow.  It would make for an epic smokescreen by JH.

This guy knows nothing. He is exactly as you said, a HS kid trying to break some fake news. I'm not sure why brian even brought this guy up (there are a ton of guys just like this on twitter). With that said, I don't think brian ever specifically vouched for him, but just posted what he said.

He played at Weber State and I watched him a lot cause I'm a Griz fan. He was unreal. I would say Rodney Stuckey was the only guy I've seen in the last 15 years to come through the Big Sky Conf with that much talent. Those two just dominated everyone. Weber got him because they recruited him hard early and he blew up his senior year and some PAC 12 teams came calling but he wanted to honor his commitment to Weber. By all accounts he's a stand up guy.

especially when prolonged like all of our searches seem to be everytime, ugh....I can't wait for it to be over so that I can revel in JH being in charge of our beloved football program.

Come home Jimmy, please make this all stop!
