This could give us a boost with Muller.

I'll take.

Reports from The Mercury is that Muller told new coach, Flood he will sign with rutgers.
January 30th, 2012 at 6:53 PM ^
Yikes! That's quite a blow to Rutgers. Wonder what happened?
January 30th, 2012 at 6:54 PM ^
Hopefully helps us with Muller.

Coach has been named head coach and media sources on Twitter saying OL prospect Chris Muller is sticking with RU.
January 30th, 2012 at 6:57 PM ^
Yeah, the talk previously was that Muller's decision would rest largely on Cristobal keeping Flood on staff. With Flood rising to head coach, I would think this would hurt our chances.

Muller looks doubtful now...if it was ever a chance to begin with.

Word is they promoted the Interim guy to full-time
January 30th, 2012 at 7:04 PM ^
If I were a recruit, I wouldn't be able to sign up fast enough.
January 30th, 2012 at 7:09 PM ^
Players already familiar with the new head coach and less likely to bail i would think. Also on Muller, since the new guy used to be a former O-line coach i do not think that bodes well for our chances.

Muller and Denman said they will both sign with Rutgers..per scout paywall. Moving on.
January 30th, 2012 at 7:07 PM ^
thewolverine.com reporting that he's set to sign with Rutgers.
January 30th, 2012 at 7:10 PM ^
Oops that was last week.
January 30th, 2012 at 7:11 PM ^
A positive with him signing with Rutgers is that it might help in getting Diamond.

we cannot persuade guys to leave POWERHOUSE rutgers... michigan, im sorry to say, isnt fully back yet, despite what brandon says.
January 30th, 2012 at 7:23 PM ^
He was a last minute, previously commited to Rutgers, recruit on the board only because he was worried about his position coach leaving. Now he's not only staying but promoted to head coach. Hard to steal a recruit from anyone in that situation.
January 30th, 2012 at 7:18 PM ^
Balls. I read the title and instantly thought this must help us with Muller....but then it just happens his position coach gets the bump to head coach. We just can't catch a break lately.
January 30th, 2012 at 7:34 PM ^
I bet Rutgers didn't see that in their... Cristobal!

I still upvoted. I love bad puns, so well done sir.

Whether this Flood guy can do anything past the next week is yet to be seen. Also, good for FIU to retain their coach. He's a good young coach and seems to be building something good there. I hope he stays for a while longer before he gets poached by a really big school
January 31st, 2012 at 2:00 AM ^
unless he thinks he can hold out for a better offer elsewhere after next year, what is the draw for cristobal to stay at fiu? the sun belt conference is so crappy that even big east teams should look down on them. and its not like its a marquee job.
