crazy stadium vs. couch

Submitted by buckeyeh8er on
I am new to the south so part of my goal when moving down here was to see certain stadiums/games. I am within 2 hours from Univ of GA (went and saw Ark vs. GA), Ga Tech, Clemson, South Carolina, and will be able to watch the ACC or SEC Championship but this weekend I am in need for some help. Clemson plays Miami in Clemson. I have heard stories about how crazy Clemson is and this would be a good game to watch. Do I a) go to the game (still sporting Maize and Blue) by myself and get a scalped ticket, all while trying not to look at the Michigan score (didnt work for Ark vs. GA) OR b) stay home and watch the Michigan vs. Indiana game?

...I didn't post the extreme off topic post but I'm learning to expect nothing more. After all, with all the positive points people are earning for freudian phallic envy with Cox et al comments and I get negged for something I've seen go without losing points time and time again.  Whomever it was I hope you feel somehow superior for negging me.  But you're not!

What should I have for lunch today; a hot dog from a street seller or nachos from a gas station? Please advise.

If you do go, why would you not look at the UM score? That doesn't sound right.

It's up to you, but personally I would stay home and watch every freaking minute that UM football is covered and not waste my money on going to another game. But if the tickets are free then maybe consider going while showing off the Maize and Blue and doing whatever you can to piss people off and get on television.

I went to the Gatech vs SC State season opener, and had Blue on my mind all game.  So much so I had to leave early to catch the M game.  That being said, I hear Clemson is a bunch of fun, but wouldn't you want to go with friends? Part of the experience is the tailgating (broads wear sundresses if the weather is right.)

Verdict: I'd stay home unless you had friends to go with.

Clemson is seriously an amazing place to go to a football game.  The whole atmosphere from tailgating, to the Tigers rubbing Howard's Rock and running down the hill to the game itself is an experience not to be missed.

I've been to about 4 games there over the years and I have more and more fun each time I go.  Go to the game, then go to a bar.

The Esso club is always an experience.  I was there for that 16-14 Michigan w Purdue in 2004.  It was awesome, and the best part was after the game was over, I went back outside to tailgate because those southerners kept going all night!

I agree entirely.  Death Valley is a great place to see a game, especially a big-ish game like Miami.  I saw Clemson-Marshall and the atmosphere was electric.  The students all sit on the hill in the endzone.  When the players touch the rock and run down the hill, students are surrounding them.  Its pretty cool.  Definitely a must-see experience.  (Plus, the girls are extremely good-looking, for what its worth, if you're interested in that kind of thing.)

I think your post is stupid.  Be an adult and make a decision without consulting an amorphous group of peope you have never met before.  What would you rather do, watch the M game or watch the Clemson game?  Jeez

I think you should slather yourself in hot sauce* and run down the street screaming about the lizard people and Trilateral Commission.  What says the rest of MGoBlog?

Please let us know how that goes...

I was at the Penn State @ Alabama game a few weeks ago and they did not show the Michigan v Notre Dame score at all. Not once. They showed Eastern Michigan v Miami (OH) as well as San Diego State v New Mexico State. Quite a fascinating selection of scores.

Also, I attended the Florida @ Tennessee game in 2008 during Michigan's bye week, and they did not show a single score outside of the SEC.

Brian Cook reported from his trip to Auburn in 2008, "Though Auburn was plenty happy to inform us that Utah had beaten Air Force 30-23 and Missouri had defeated mighty Buffalo 42-21, there was not a single Big Ten score, and the only Pac 10 score was the Georgia-Arizona State game."

So let us know if this is just an SEC conspiracy to not let anyone know the Big Ten exists or if it's a full southern conspiracy in which the ACC takes part as well...

Like, what is the best way to remove your cranium from your rectum?  I recommend the band-aid removal method.  Its gonna sting no matter what you do, so you might as well make it quick.  Good luck!

Not telling you what to do but my buddy called me last week because he had a couple extra tickets to the auburn game. His buddy has a lake house that we were going to stay at and the first thing I said was when's the game, next do they have cable, what time did he want to head to auburn from the lake. If he would have answered any of those questions wrong I would not have gone. But really pass up an m game for clemson?

If you can watch the game, with a slingbox and a cellphone, you can go.   Otherwise, stay home and enjoy the Michgan game.  Michigan is appointment viewing.  If you do not have a slingbox, You can only visit other stadiums on bye weeks or other times that would not interfere with Michigan games.  GO BLUE!
