Cravens to USC-Will still visit Michigan
The 5 Star safety out of California is supposed to announce at around 11:30 AM PST, so 2:30 PM EST.
If doesn't choose USC I will eat a lemon. If he chooses Michigan I will eat another.
Edit: He chose USC, but says he still wants to visit Michigan, OSU, and maybe Florida. Had a final three of USC, Michigan, and OSU. Interesting. There may still be a chance.
If I were him, I'd skip the football career and just earn roles in my dad's horror movies.
though that he still plans to take visits. Officials are paid for by the schools, so why would a school fly him out across the country if they thought he was firmly committed to USC. I'd be interested to see what the staff does in this case as they are adamant about UM recruits not taking any more visits after committing to Michigan.
On top of that Michigan isn't exactly a sexy visit, such as Florida or California...especially for a Cali kid, so if he really plans on coming I would think that there's more to it. Could be he's trying to bring down the recruiting process tremendously or maybe it's for his cousin.
If how the coaches handled Brionte Dunn last year is how they're going to go about all committed prospects, which I expect they will, then they'll have no problem allowing a prospect committed elsewhere to visit.
If he's got that much money he shouldn't accept tax payer money for a scholly.
/justindiddy
It's not taxpayer money. Even if it were, why not? It's a merit-based scholarship.
validation of your efforts but at the same time it could be one more scholarship the school could offer to an additional athlete that might help your team realize it's goals.
I don't disagree with you at all on that, but that wasn't the point the previous poster was making.
Okay, obviously flew over your head. I know it is not tax payer money. But, that was what many were saying with the Justin Diddy situation. In fact, the link I included contains a statement to that end.
it's about his dad though...did you think Andrew Luck shouldn't have gotten a scholarship? How about Nate Montana (lack of talent aside)? Their parents are wealthy as well...and there was no debate...almost an expectation that they would receive scholarships.
I took the point to be
1) he earned the scholly and has every right to use it.
2) a player in that financial situation could pay his own way and help his team by allowing them to give the scholly to another talented prospect. Therefore effectively giving his team a competitive advantage by allowing them to have 86 scholarship eligible type players.
Why do we have a thread about a kid that clearly isn't choosing Michigan?
Because part of being a Michigan football fan is enduring pain
But this pain is highly unnecessary. We've known for a while he won't commit here, so what's the point of following his announcement? The pain should have subsided long ago.
Revive it or deal with a thread about a kid who has Michigan in his top 2, even if he isn't going to choose Michigan.
Exactly. Like I want to do work or something. Come on people!
What else do you have to do? Something productive like work, have a social life, raise a family, join a cult? Admit it - you're going to check this thread from time to time just to find out the kid's final decision. The first step to curing MGoAddiction is to admit to the addiction to MGoBlog
.
almost 18000 mgopoints.
Join a cult, come on the leader says the sun is bad. The Night time is the right time.
Hope may be a lost cause, but why the hell not. Crazier things have happened.
I will eat a ghost chili if he picks Michigan. It would be as delicious as a ghost chili can be considering the circumstances.
...just like StraightDave bought me a stea.... wait a minute.
Is it even possible to eat one of those without damaging your mouth?
Aren't we due to be on the positive end of a total shocker of a recruiting decision after Garnett? The Stanford people, if they cared, probably would have had a thread about how they had no chance.
Garnett was only a total shocker if you're a complete Michigan homer.
I wasn't shocked.
If we can't be Michigan homers here, where can we be?
In Homer, Michigan...of course.
Two weeks earlier it would have qualified as "somewhat surprising," but by the time he announced it wasn't much of a shock.
Did someone say Dee Hart?
Then decommitted was a shock for you?
USC's class is just ridiculous. According to Rivals their lowest ranked guy is Massington at 141. All other 6 guys(soon to be 7) are in the Top 100. Talk about quality over quantity.
You kind of have to choose the quality when the NCAA takes away your quantity.
I love how someone just tweeted that "Nebraska didn't make the cut" for Cravens, and now he's down to 4.
THE SUSPENSE!!
Did he. Isit USC ?
So we're kinda, maybe behind.
Man, if he picks USC over UM, I don't know what I'm going to do. I mean we never, NEVER, win head to head battles. I'm starting to doubt Hoke's recruiting. I thought we could have gone to the next level with him, but clearly we are outclassed in the recruting department. It hurts so bad.
Maybe so, but at least jerseys are selling like hotcakes in Ohio. So we've got that going for us, which is nice.
Definitely a good start.
But that's only because the people who bought them were leans from the start. If someone wasn't a UM fan had to choose head-to-head between a UM jersy and a [insert team here] jersey, they wouldn't choose us. We never, NEVER, get undecided jersey buyers to buy our jersey's in Ohio.
But they're selling like hotcakes!
So are you saying that Ohio people only buy Michigan jerseys because their OSU jerseys are non-commitable?
Good stuff. What goes around, comes around, eh?
:) Just playin. But you're on notice, profitgoblue. Don't doubt my will. The MGoVillain comes in many forms.
I definitely do not want to be on your bad side. I have enough people downvoting me as it is!
Maybe you think about coming over to my side and I'll have you protected. Just think about it...
if he chose Michigan, this would be as awesome (almost) as the day we had 8.
It would be 1/8th as awesome actually.
meant these past few days
