MOAR MONEY!  I mentioned this in a tweet to @umhoops already - personally, I think holding basketball games in football arenas is stupid.  The arenas are so big that they have to cover half of the seats because they're too far from the court!  At some point, overkill becomes overkill.

Basketball was absolutely meant to be played here.   The sightlines are amazing from everywhere.

In essence, you'll be paying hundreds of bucks to sit in the upper level seats and watch the game on the big screen since it's bigger than the actual freakin' court.

Anyway, congrats to Jerry Jones for landing the NCAA hoops regional finals and the 2015 football championship game.  He surely needed to host these events to fill his depleted ego bucket.

The size of an NCAA basketball court is the same as the NBA, as many would know here, and this is 94 feet by 50 feet, or 4,700 square feet. One of the sideline displays at Cowboys Stadium is 160 feet by 72 feet, or 11,520 square feet. If it were possible to parcel it correctly, you could literally play 2 basketball games in that space and have some room to spare.

My seats are in the 300 section which means I will have to rely on screen watching even more than the bama game. I'm more confident that I will have occasions to cheer this time around. Really hoping for some redemption. Thus should be a great way to bookend our fiscal sports calendar in what the locals affectionately refer to as the death star.

Having gone to the Cowboys Classic, I really didn't like the gameday expereince.  There are very few bars within walking distance of the stadium and those that are are Buffalo Wild Wings-type places in strip malls. Also I thought the screen was bothersome and made watching the play on the field difficult.  That being said, it probably didn't help that we got our teeth kicked in.

San Diego put in a bid for the "other semifinal site," competing with Dallas (Cotton Bowl), Phoenix (Fiesta Bowl) and Atlanta (Chick-fil-A Bowl). The Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl and Orange Bowl have already been locked in as semifinal sites. It would be nice for us "left coasters" to have three driving distance sites (LA, SD and PHX) of the 6 rotating semifinal sites, but it appears as though SD is a longshot.

I know a lot of people get excited about the MNC but I'll always prefer a New Year's Day Rose Bowl to Jan 7th MegaBowl.

Anyone saying anything bad about Cowboy Stadium is dead wrong. The stadium is basically a mini city. I was there for the cowboy classic and the place is amazing.
