Coverage Map for M-Utah? EDIT: Posted
OK team - this is not something I'm very experienced in and I've googled for a couple days with no results. Does anyone know a good place to find the ABC/ESPN2 coverage map for the game this weekend? I've never needed this before, but I'll be somewhere with access to ABC but not ESPN2 (or streaming capabilities, best I know).
I've seen these posted on here before, so if anyone can help a brotha out, I'd appreciate it.
EDIT: Thanks commenters who posted it. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/page/CFBmaps/2014-espn-college-football-tv-maps

Follow up question...if a game is on ABC in your area, can you still get it on the watchespn app? Or does it get blacked out for ABC only?

According to ESPN radio this morning, M-Utah is the "prime" game in that time-slot -- meaning it's the one that most of the country will see on ABC. The secondary games will appear on ABC only in Big 12 and ACC country. So here's hoping you aren't in Oklahoma or Maryland.

I will be in San Diego, and since that's Pac-12 country and we're playing a Pac-12 team, all signs point to me getting it on ABC, but I want to confirm that or figure out how to rearrange some plans.

Yep. My wife has a work meeting in SD on Friday for lunch so we're all going down and doing a little Petco Park and Seaworld. I'm leaving Seaworld after lunch to put the baby down for a nap (my 4 year old will stay there with WolvmominLA) and watch the game and the person at our hotel front desk said the room gets ESPN but not ESPN2.
I've got both boys by myself for a few hours in the middle the day Friday. Any pointers on stuff to do that might be walking distance or short drive from the Embassy Suites downtown/gaslamp?
On a related note, my wife has an open offer to move to her firm's SD office, so I may become WolvinSD at some point.

You can go to Seaport Village. For me it's a tad bit touristy, but it might be perfect for you since you have kids. There is usually some kind of street preformer type of people there (stacking rocks, guys with bunch of parrots, etc.)
Right by Seaport Village is the Grand Hyatt or Machester Hyatt or something like that. It has a pretty cool bar on the 40th floor with great views(not sure when they open also might be out of the picture with your boys).
About a mile north of gas lamp is Little Italy. They have good cafes, restaurants, bars, etc. There is also a farmers market on Saturdays. I really like Craft & Commerce in Little Italy. Also the owners recently opened a oyster bar/seafood restuarant in Little Italy called Iron Side.
There is also a mall called Horton Plaza. Should be maybe 5 min drive at the most.
I can't remeber the name of the park, but there is on near the Convention Center.

Thanks guys - I only have about an hour or two to kill and I'll have a 4 year old and a toddler with me so any adult things are out.
I've been to Craft and Commerce before because the last time we were in SD we stayed in Little Italy. It's unique - but sometimes you just want to order something normal and you just can't do that there.
I think Seaport Village is a great idea - it's right across from our hotel so we can walk, hang out for a bit, and head back.

The seals on the beach are worth the trip - the kids would love it.

All good suggestions, thanks guys. The boys love the beach, and the weather should be back to not crazy this weekend. I love La Jolla as well, and seeing the seals might be a good way to gear up for Sea World the next day.
They're also going to their first ball game Friday night at Petco. We won't be there long, but it's a more kid friendly park than Dodger Stadium so it should be fun.

Thanks for the suggestions! We get a yearly pass to the LA Zoo every year and although I know the SD Zoo is better, I only have about an hour and those boys go to the zoo about twice a month as it is.
And I can't do a UM bar for the games because the only way I'm getting out of Sea World is so my son can take a nap and I can't exactly leave him in the hotel room to go to PB. Though I love PB - I rented a beach house there for my bachelor party.

(if I read it right) that you would watch the game while your 4 Y/O napped. No child of mine, or adult for that matter, could ever nap whilst I watched Michigan football anywhere nearby.
I salute you if you can pull that off bro.
September 18th, 2014 at 1:28 PM ^
Close. My 4 year old is styaing at Sea World for the rest of the day with my wife, and my 16 month old is coming back with me to nap. Luckily, we have a suite so he'll be napping in one room and I'll be watching the game in the other. He's also a heavy sleeper.
That said, I agree with you. I'm a loud person and an even louder football watcher. My wife can be heard during games saying "No, daddy's not mad at you, he's mad at the TV." In this instance, however, the quieter I can be, the more uninterrupted football time I get, so I might just watch with a sock in my mouth or something.

I've only spent 3 days there, but I was sold after the first. We only planned to spend 2 days there, but weloved it so much, we ended up staying for another day and started to ask locals about job prospects.
I've only spent a little time in LA, but for me, SD is an easy choice. Better weather, people are really relaxed. I think traffic is better. And I'm guessing housing costs are pretty similar. I know where I'd be, but that's just like my opinion man.

I agree with you 100%. SD beats the pants off LA in almost every category. Cost of living, at least coming from where we live, is comparable.
And although she has the open offer to transfer there, we still have the issue with my job and we own a house in LA so it wouldn't exactly be a seamless transition. We've basically said that if I ever have an opportunity within my job or with a different company to move to SD we'd jump on it.

Something does not compute. Maryland is in the B1G now and is playing on ESPN3 against Syracuse at 12:30.

Try North Carolina.

I live in Maryland and I know it's B1G country, because when I get off the plane at BWI, there is a big sign that says.... "Welcome to B1G Country". Therefore it is.

In previous years, ESPN has updated the coverage maps on Thursday. Wait one more day, but you'll likely get UM-Utah

WolvinLA2,
While the Coverage Map has not yet been updated, the San Diego ABC affiliate's TV Listing page (http://www.10news.com/entertainment/tv-listings) indicates they will be showing Utah at Michigan.

Map is finally up (see one of the earlier posts in this thread for the link). Looks like parts of Montana either don't like Utah or don't like Michigan... ;)

I guess it's a good thing we didn't opt for SeaWorld - Helena then. Fhew!

What is up with western Montana? They don't get a game on ABC and merely get Utah/Michigan on ESPN2.
