A couple of questions about Les Miles
Also, can anyone speak to the rumors regarding the negative stuff that supposedly went down with Miles when he was on the coaching staff here? I'm sure we've all heard those stories by now, but I don't know how much of that is grounded in fact and how much is just some made up BS that got started on an internet forum somewhere.

The LSU sites are saying that it is Miles to Michigan after the Cotton Bowl.
I, however, think it's just wishful thinking on their part.
Reminds me of "Take my wife.... please!"

Miles was not offered the job 3 years ago, and there are more reasons not to offer it to him now. Ain't gonna happen.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:04 PM ^
there are more reasons to offer it to him now too, such as our limited timeframe.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:07 PM ^
I'd rather have a player/coach (are you listening Denard? you could be our Reggie Dunlin!!) than Miles.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:12 PM ^
That response made me laugh out loud. I pictured Denard calling the plays intermural flag-football style.

Red Seven, RED SEVEN! Hot Route Hot Route!
January 7th, 2011 at 2:15 PM ^
Don't you learn anything from history?
He has no defensive experience and no special teams interest. It would be all Denard or nothing...
January 7th, 2011 at 2:39 PM ^
Toe Blake? Eddie Shore?
"Yeah guys we got a lot of losses!" "F**kin Christ pop 'em!!"
January 7th, 2011 at 1:56 PM ^
it's 100% true, and that's why he will never be the coach here, no matter how much he wants to be.
January 7th, 2011 at 1:58 PM ^
are you saying is true? This is no time to be vague. I need specifics.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:05 PM ^
well perhaps i shouldnt say, but what he did was significant enough where he is not wanted by the michigan family. there have been plenty of rumors of what exactly happened, so if you know those, just try to figure it out.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:14 PM ^
OK, suppose I buy into this idea of the "Michigan Family," of which I skeptical to begin with, given that our best coaches (Yost, Bo) came from outside the "Family," but let's say I do. Miles is just as much a part of the "Family" as anyone he may have wronged. Are you saying this "Family" is incapable of foregiveness, 15-20 years after the fact? That a fellow member of the "Family" needs to be scorned and shunned forever? Sounds like a dysfunctional family to me.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:22 PM ^
Sounds like a dysfunctional family to me.
If your brother-in-law slept with your wife, you wouldn't be "holding a grudge" 15 years later???
January 7th, 2011 at 2:36 PM ^
Inapt analogy, but I think you foregive the transgressions of those in your family. Maybe they get punished--as Miles most certainly has been--but you forgive and move on.
At any rate, this is about Michigan football moving forward, not twenty-year-old domestic squabbles among a staff that are long-gone from the program. The relevant institutional principle is love for Michigan, pursuit of excellence. Miles brings that to the table.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:47 PM ^
He was having a lot of kids but then abandoning some of them, showing he hasn't changed?
January 7th, 2011 at 2:56 PM ^
OK, now that is more of a cause for concern. In the context of the SEC, it's bad but probably not the worst. I, too, dislike moral relativism, however, and it should be addressed if Michigan is serious about Les Miles.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:44 PM ^
I'd probably be more angry at my wife for fucking her brother.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:23 PM ^
for what he did, yes. he will never be wanted by the michigan family.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:33 PM ^
You know how many of these "so and so slept with so and so's wife/sister/girlfriend/mom" stories turn out to be total B.S.?
Half of them probably start something like this... Guy 1: Man, that Rosenberg guy really hates Rich Rodriguez. Guy 2. Yeah, Rich Rod must have slept with his wife or something... Joke gets retold, it becomes a story, next time it becomes a rumor... and then it's plastered all over the internet.
January 7th, 2011 at 3:25 PM ^
it's 100% true. you don't have to believe it. but it's true.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:25 PM ^
I'm sorry, but I don't buy the whole, "Les Miles banged Gary Moeller's wife" story.
Is this a rumor that had come up before the 2007 coaching search? Methinks it was fabricated around that time.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:39 PM ^
Not fabricated in 2007. My family talked about it when Moeller got fired. My aunt was a secretary in the AD in the 80's through the 00's. She also confirms Bo being ready to kill when they found out Miles was saying Carr had Parkinson's.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:07 PM ^
It's been posted on here before.
January 7th, 2011 at 1:59 PM ^
He had better not be the coach next year, or EVER!
January 7th, 2011 at 1:56 PM ^
Les Miles killed a drifter to get an erection.
Rumor? Fact? You decide!
January 7th, 2011 at 1:58 PM ^
I vote fact, because he can't seem to count either.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:01 PM ^
do you mean the act of killing gave him an erection or that he killed to get the drifter's erection? Because, the latter would just be weird - even for Less.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:26 PM ^
Jimmy Johnson endorses this comment.
January 7th, 2011 at 1:57 PM ^
I heard 20th hand that there was an incident with another coach's wife, party fouls, etc., but have no idea how true the rumors are.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:00 PM ^
It's been well covered on here and doesn't need dragged out yet again.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:00 PM ^
The rumor that I've heard is that Miles fooled around with Moeller's wife, and that fooling around led to Moeller's drinking binge that got him fired
/just the main rumor i've heard, no sources or whatnot
January 7th, 2011 at 2:09 PM ^
MODS!
Absent any proof, it's really inappropriate to encourage or tolerate this sort of rumor-mongering. You know how swiftly rumors mutate and spread. Particularly the seamy ones. Next thing you know, someone's saying that "MGoblog reports that..."
January 7th, 2011 at 2:11 PM ^
This shit has been all over the internet for years. No reason to freak out about it now, especially when everyone is pointing out it is just rumor/stories.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:16 PM ^
I'm aware it's an old rumor. But it's just beneath this board. And the more you say this sort of thing, the more it takes on a life of its own. Most rumors are fine -- that partly what boards are for. But rumors like this one cross a line into slander. Technically, at least, they open Brian up to trouble.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:19 PM ^
rumormongering is what the internet is for. Dude asked a question, and it was answered, no need to have a fit about it. Uoh vicious rumors! Watch out or Les Miles will get you.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:43 PM ^
What's your real name and address? I'll gladly start spreading rumors about your family. See how you feel about it then.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:50 PM ^
No winder you didn't like Rich....
January 7th, 2011 at 2:51 PM ^
Les?
January 7th, 2011 at 2:59 PM ^
We should practice the ethics so many of us desire in a coach.
January 7th, 2011 at 1:59 PM ^
I miss RR.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:00 PM ^
Inside sources (I made this up) say he is going to be Arkansas' next OC. Take it for what its worth (nothing).
January 7th, 2011 at 2:06 PM ^
Mallett bolts on incoming RR, the sequel? LOL
January 7th, 2011 at 2:01 PM ^
I miss him too.
January 7th, 2011 at 1:59 PM ^
I heard from a reliable source that Les Miles eats grass because it soothes his stomach after eating the souls of African children that Sally Struthers could not help.
Take it or leave it.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:20 PM ^
I heard from a reliable source that Les Miles eats grass because he is an antelope.
January 7th, 2011 at 2:31 PM ^
...that Chuck Norris fears one man......Les Miles while eating grass
