A couple hypotheticals

2009 Michigan Offense + 2008 Michigan Defense = what record in 2008? 2009 Michigan Defense + 2008 Michigan Offense = what record in 2008? I'm going with 7-5 for the former (+ wins over Toledo, Northwestern, and 2 of 3 of ND, Purdue, and Utah), and 2-10 for the latter (- win over Wisconsin, maybe Minnesota).

I don't think there is much of a diff between this D and last years D. You would still get all the broken assignments. 2009 D and 08 O - I think we'd be lucky to get to 3-9

I was thinking about this very topic at about 4:40 this morning; couldn't sleep. Yesterday's knocked down pitch, turnover at our own 19, reminded me of how frequent an occurrence that was last year. Former: 6-6; I think Utah wins against Tate/Denard; we get Toledo, NW and Purdue. 1st roadgame at ND in that weather is a tossup; Wiscy should have been a tossup, win one of those two and we're at 6-6. Latter: 2-10 is probably optimistic; the Minny game was inexplicable.
But what about 2008 defense + 2009 offense in 2009; could add wins at MSU, Iowa and Illinois. 8-2 heading to Wisconsin.

How about 2009 Offense, 1997 defense, 9-1. If this team had a defense, we would be almost unstoppable. Imagine if we actually got the 3 and outs against some of these teams we lost against with the way we can move the ball.

I was thinking the same thing about this year's offense and last year's defense. I think we would be a little better than we are now. I didn't even think about last year's offense and this year's defense though. Ouch.
