Good for Countess. I remember the day he committed. It was around the time I really started getting into the recruiting side of things.

Freshmen numbers for those who will be on campus now-

  • #5 Jabrill Peppers
  • #19 Jared Wangler
  • #54 Brady Pallante
  • #58 Chase Winovich
  • #59 Noah Furbush
  • #76 Juwann Bushell-Beatty
  • #85 Maurice Ways
  • #93 Lawrence Marshall
  • #94 Ian Bunting
  • incoming tranfer Ty Isaac will wear #32. The number he wore in HS.

Oh those high school glory days.

On a related note, I was a fairly decent track runner. Then came the state finals. Towards the end of the meet, all we needed was a top three finish in the 4x4 to win. I was the last runner in the event and when handed the baton, took off wayyy too fast, cramped up, everyone passed me, and we lost.

So I legitimately cost us a state championship, which would have been the first in like 25 years for my HS.

Oh well.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Peppers wanted his high school number from the start, and was just going along with this hoopla about wearing the #2 jersey. He stated during his recruiting that he wanted to start his own legacy. I’m happy he’s wearing the #5 jersey.

I would have been okay with Peppers wearing 2. However, I like the sound of him wearing number 5 and starting his own legacy. I almost bet that the reason Countess is wearing number 2 is because they are giving out the Woodson legacy jersey this year. Countess has proven to be a solid player and would be a great person to wear the legacy jersey.

I assume nothing has changed but Freshman have been added. So just looking at them. 6'1 210... Solid. Harris is thin at 180. With his injury history I wouldn't be surprised to see him redshirt to get healthy and put on 15lbs. Ferns plays...early enrollee and definitely big enough. 275 ain't gonna hold up in the B1G...but he's an EE so he and Harris probably haven't been updated. Marshall and Bunting need 15 more lbs, but we knew that would be the case.

I don't think those weights have been update yet. Harris is probably up from his 180 being an EE and all. I still think he should redshirt considering he's been out of football for almost a year.

I don't know about Bunting, but I remember reading a couple weeks ago that Marshall was up to 250.

but what is Hoke thinking. So who is the next 1? Kinda keeps me wondering about this Staff. Big 14 champs or you missed your goals per Hoke himself. This is year FOUR.

I am boggled there are 129 (now 130) posts on uniform numbers.  I guess I am the only one who this doesnt matter one bit to.  Scratching my head on the popularity of the subject.
