The throw Forcier made while on the run was the highlight for me, though Stonum and Denard look great. Anyone have any idea who 10 is? Jeremy Gallon played QB in highschool, but why would he be taking snaps here?

To roll left into the sideline and be able to hit the tiny window while allowing the receiver to stay inbounds is one reason I think Tate needs to be on the field.  He doesn't need to be the only QB to play IMHO, but he definitely needs to be in the mix.

I don't envy the QB decision the coaches have to make.  Personally, I'm not neccessarily in the "Redshirt Gardner" camp, I'm in the "Win Games" camp (don't waste your words trying to convince me otherwise), and all 3 seem like they could start and have success.

The one thing that has stood out the most (to me anyway) in these CTK videos is the talent we have at QB. All 3 seem to be legit options & capable of not only starting but doing some really good things.

I was also pleasantly surprised with the coverage on d. All the completed passes had a defender right on the receivers hip & forcing near perfect throws by the QB's. Heres hoping I wasnt just seeing what I wanted to & that is something that will carry over into the season.

Marvin Robinson is going to be a hell of a player for us whether it's at LB, S or a hybrid position. That kid is just a football player IMO. Haven't had very many of those on defense these last couple of years.

There is talent GALORE on that offense. If I had to pick a starting QB, I'd go with Tate. I think he throws the best, most consistent ball of the three. Some of Robinson's throws were just fugly. Gardner hands down has the most talent and upside of the 3 QB's. That was evident in just watching that 2 1/2 min video. Gardner has the size and the arm to go along with the leadership and athleticism to become an all-time great at Michigan. I am salivating at the mouth at the prospects of Devin Gardner being our QB in 2012 and beyond. I hope he redshirts this year to fine tune his game, gets worked into the rotation as a RS Fr. in 2011 and then takes over the job for good in 2012 as a RS Soph.

Denard made good decisions (which is probably the most important thing), but his passes were wobbly.

Tate's passes were all crisp spirals, right on target.  He also looks more decisive with his running than last year, at least in other videos.  Not so much freelancing and playing chase-me-in-circles like before.

I still like D-Rob for starter in the opener, especially because UConn struggles against the spread, and Denard is best suited to punish a team like that.

I'd give Tate at least three drives, just to keep the defense off balance.  Timing is important, though.  Don't want to screw with a QB's momentum.

Bottom line: I think our offense is really going to be clicking this year.

It was the two factors you mentioned as well as the college football stripes. I think the flash of the half stripes makes the ball look wobbly as stripe/no-stripe track differently against the stadium background.

I fully expect the total points scored for both teams in each game this season to be well over 50.  This CTK made me both extremely excited and nervous at the same time.

Also I have full confidence in any of the 3 QBs to lead the team.

Both sides were playing against the scout teams.  This is the first time you should be unabashedly happy watching the stars shred the opposition.  The defense should get a lot better once the QB situation gets settled, because the third stringer should get plenty of time against the number one defense, which will give them better looks in practice.

It's all John Navarre's fault.

The defensive highlights are against the scout team, running UConn's offense.

If you notice, all three were against trap plays, which must be a heavy focus. They are easy to read for the LBs since it is only reading guards. (Not saying this to take anything away, but just for info. I loved the one with Mouton flying downhill.)

The word Beanie comes from the little hats they wear when the squads are mixed for things like special teams, to tell which team is which, since the jersey colors are mixed together.

Couple of thoughts:

  1. I watched this 4 straight times. I am now breathing into a paper bag and typing with one hand.
  2. I should be nervous about the thought of Moundros starting, but he looks and sounds like a MLB that has racked up about 25 tackles a game against us over the past few years. No one in particular, just that Iowa/Wisconsin/PSU/OSU kind of raw meat eating killer.
  3. Was it just me, or was RR suppressing a Cheshire cat-ish smile there? I hope that bodes well for the season, if so.
