Countdown to Kickoff - Day 10: Terrence Robinson
Coffee + CTK = day able to begin. Merci!
they're a sweet snack!
Ugh. I checked mgoblue.com 20 minutes ago when I left the house and it wasn't up yet. Damn employer blocking videos...
However, I can visit MGoBlog. And watch the embedded YouTube vids. So all is not lost.
Single Digits tomorrow!
Youtube is blocked for me too :(
at least you can see my MSPaint attempt of TRob as Johnny Bravo (his favorite cartoon character growing up).....
I have to deal with the great firewall of China AND the company I'm working for blocks websites on its own- pretty much every single blog I try to read. Yet MGoBlog stands untouched. Coincidence?
Let the argument continue...
The middle cream makes it a sweet. But the outside cookie part makes it a snack. Most cookies are snacks, but the cream makes it sugary as well. It's like chocolate covered pretzels, what are those considered? Exactly, the answer is both.
RichRod seriously needs to stop recruiting thugs. I mean look at this guy. What a terrible ambassador for the program. /s
Seriously though, has anyone seen a player that is not well-spoken and decidedly unthuggish?
But if you tell him he's not a thug and he wants to be at all thug-like, even for image's sake, he might kill you with a look:
(Edit: clarification: I'm sure MRob is a very well spoken, nice young man... he also has a death stare that is awesome)
I was going to say the same thing. All these kids have been well spoken and seem to really be close.
This cookie as snack/sweet issue will surely cause a schism in the team. Mark my words, there will be a team split based on cookie as snack or sweet.
is a snack and a sweet.
edit: meant as reply to dudeness
A cookie is a sweet. I define a snack as a salt based snack food. Cookies are a sweet which you can snack on, but not a snack (n).
So does this mean that a cookie is a snack that is a sugar based snack food? Those Thin Mints/Grasshoppers surely become a snack for me just before bed.
Salty = snack. Cookie = sweet. Mostly because a cookie is sweet. If a cookie is not a sweet then what is?
Then it's crap you shouldn't eat.
Was shopping and saw those on the shelf the other day. Now tell me what those are.
Sweet= Jelly Bean, Worthers Original, York PP, etc
Snack= Cookies, Chips, Cheese Puffs, Beef Jerky, etc.
Cinnamon and Sugar Ritz = addicting. Whether that means sweet or snack I don't know but the box doesn't last long in my family.
Love the tag!
My five year old wanted them but we had to stick to budget and I thought that the originals would taste much better in soup.....so I went with those.
Thanks for the encouragement on the tag......I don't think it is too popular around these parts. I have dropped about 100 MGoPoints since throwing it on there. Good thing eternity isn't based on MGoPoints........or is it?
Well I wouldn't throw them in my soup but we love em with our milk.
The tag won't offend everyone around here. It's only when the posts turn into religious statements (and I don't think your tag should be seen as that.) I've mentioned I'm a pastor and that hasn't bothered anyone. I am hoping to save up all my points though and see if the rate of exchange is good at the pearly gates.
I better start participating more if the points count up there. And for the record, I can assure people that my God is not angry and does not hate our DB's!
chocolate covered pretzels be then? very salty, yet sweet as well. or a caramel apple, which is definitely a sweet, but you wouldn't consider the apple part a sweet by itself. Or just a banana by itself, definitely not salt-based, and very sweet tasting, but most would consider this a snack.
I love this debate. But I hate the types of debaters that just yell "IT'S A SWEET! IT'S A SWEET!" Sorry to whomever that girl in the video was...
To go with His Dudeness, I would say that if it has salt it is by default a snack.
I'll tell you what those pretzels are. Those pretzels are making me thirsty!
The problem is that the two categories are not mutually exclusive.
DID I JUST BLOW YOUR MIND
edit: dang, beat by 5 minutes by steve holt
BTW - This was the best CTK yet. Mike Martin is hilarious. I met him at O'Neils when he was bouncing there and had a nice talk with him about how to hate Ohio State. I told him to teach the guys from out of state exactly how to hate them. I also called him a brick shit house. It was great.
Wow Martin definitely looks like the Hulk beside Robinson for sure. Yeah this was the best one so far IMO.
Water is wet and all... but Mike Martin is f#@$@#n HUGE
No kidding, he looks like he would rip the arms off of Robinson and eat them like a cave man.
No disrespect to Martin of course, the man is just a freaking tank.
are Robinson's arms a sweet or a snack?
T-Rob is from my HS alma mater. I was so happy when he picked Michigan and so bummed when he got injured. He truely is a classy kid and a great team mate. I hope he gets the chance to play significant time this year. I would also love to se the wrestling match b/w him and Martin. Of course my money would still be on Roh's Unibrow.
I was thinking the same thing!!!
I want one.
A cookie is a sweet snack
Snack vs. Sweet
I don't care what it is, as long as we beat UConn and have a great season
this and craig/lewan had me cracking up the whole time! Cookie is a snack, a sweet snack at that! MM is the HULK. That would be too funny seeing them two wrestle.
How about those moves T-Rob was putting on in those 1 on 1 drills. That was sweet!
Diagnose head position of tackler.
Give opposite side shoulder.
Spin through arm tackle.
The kind of stuff young skill guys should do in daily drills.
...like Johnny Bravo
GRob was immediately up in Cam's face showing him how to be better with his tackling technique. Hopefully it pays off this year.
Lots of great kids on this team - haven't seen a bit of negativity yet. My bet is on the team's chemistry translating to good things on game days!
Does that title say "10!?" Only 10 more days!?
I think I can make it that long... I think.
Man, Mr.Robinson has a lot of wiggle. Hopefully he is really that shifty against other teams, and it isn't that Mike Williams is just that bad.
I loved the whole video, but the best part was definitely the t-shirt he was wearing: "Michigan Family". Love it.
...could very well be a big-time break out performer this season.
That said, someone really needs to teach these defensive players how to tackle in the open field. Both guys (Williams and C. Gordon) looking ball carrier at head level and both guys lunging forward at a player in open space. Very poor
The defender must close, come to balance, eyes on bottom of numbers or belt buckle, wait for offensive player to commit, then step sideways or even give slightly backward and tackle the legs. Try to put shoulder through knees, then lock the arms around legs. If you get shoulders into legs, run through the tackle. If you do not get shoulders into legs, finish the tackle by rolling.
at work at the Xerox machine because I was tired of waiting to make my copies. "Shoulder through the knees and lock arms ... " I just kept repeating that to myself and damn if It didn't work beautifully! One of the secretaries was pretty shifty, though, so I tried the rolling thing. No gain!
You can't walk away from a K22 paper jam!
We have some real cool guys on this roster, and you can tell how tight they all are with one another.
Good video, nice moves he has, and my bridge card help get me through college as well. loved that thing
Who was the kid telling people that a cookie was a sweet? Sounded like a 12-year-old.
If he could only catch the ball consistently, he could make those moves in the open field when it actually counts.
He made some of those guys (Williams, C. Gordon, Marvin Robinson) look a little silly at times.
