Could there be a more likeable kid than Denard (even putting aside his play)?

Submitted by Erik_in_Dayton on

Recap of his Sportscenter interview:  He says that he doesn't know how it happened but the end result was because of the Michigan team playing together.  Chris Fowler tells him his stats, and Denard says, "WHAT?!" and hides his face in his hands.  He credits Borges for having had Michigan work on last-second plays all summer.  He credits ND for being a tough opponent and playing a great game.  He credits Tate Forcier for starting the three straight last-second victories.  He is obviously enthralled with the fans in the stands having stayed after the game and the group experience of the Michigan faithful...What a kid.

#1 play on sportscenter plus the elite performance. Absolutely deserved. In the 4th quarter:

70% completion, 202 pass yards, 20.2 ypa, 3 td (1 int). WOW.

from his interview:

DRob was humble about his 450yd performance and hyped the atmosphere at the game and gave props to the students for still being there- "I wanna keep this jersey... I just wanna remember all this. Look at all this stuff right here, man. lookat the fans. THEY STILL HERE! The game is over!"

Man, throw the deep ball and he's even more ridiculous.

I was getting frustrated early in the game with Denard's passing.  The kid is just magic.

But, for everyone out there.....something more important.  10 years today...NEVER FORGET!

The dude has just an infectious positive attitude.  The "WHAT!?!?!" was fantastic.  The smile and "The game is over!", god, if ever I need a pick me up I am going to replay that interview in my head.

For seeing the potential in Denard and getting him to Michigan. Don't get me wrong, I think Hoke will be great for Michigan football, but I wonder if he would've recruited DB.

Whether it was dumb luck or profound insight on the part of RR and staff,,Denard Robinson through on-field performance and sheer personality is the equivalent of the Fab-Five to Michigan Basketball (without the scandal).

I would bet there are at least 20 4-5 star recruits in the next 10 years+ that choose UM based on childhood memories of #16.

---And to think I was cursing his passing ability through most of the first 3 qtrs!!!  (He still needs work on the deep ball or this would not have be close.)

Great looking at this team and thinking they will only get better in the coming games and years!
