Could Brock travel with the team to road games this year?

Submitted by iawolve on

I imagine the NCAA would deem it some sort of disallowed perk, but he kicked off the season and it sort of seems that it would be right for him to be at our games. He has trained in our facilities and is almost like an extension of team this year, the story is surely intertwined. He and his family will probably be at all home and close road games anyway, but hell, get him on the bus/charter flight with the rest of the guys. Not sure what the MGo board thinks.

He is not on our team, we could give him whatever we wanted. Hell, we could pay him and it would still be fine. But like someone said, he is in school...at Ohio State. He's probably a little busy.

...I think he might need some peace and quiet as he works through grad school.

That said, he's more than welcome to lead the team out against Boise State in the National Championship game.

yes.

And once again Brock Mealer shall soar and bask in glory.

Could he lead the team out on the field in Columbus?  Not sure how this would come across to the bucknuts.  They could give him a standing ovation or would they deem him a traitor?

He's not part of the team, so unless the NCAA has rules against hangers-on, travel would be legal.  Hangers-on are a major part of college football, and I'm sure some rich dude would pay for it if that was the only legal way.

He's not part of the team, but his brother is.  I don't know much about the NCAA rules, but seeing as how one of Reggie Bush's biggest problems was benefits to his parents, I doubt we're allowed to give him money/free travel.  Some benefits are obviously permitted for family members and maybe travel is one of them, but I would be surprised if that were the case.

I'm sure he can.  I had roommate who was friends with a cornerback on the OSU team, the year they went to texas he went since players got some tickets to take family members.
