Nik really was the difference. Truly. He shut the door on them so early.
Not to pat myself on the back as a prognosticator, but I did mention that the team was peaking at the right time, and that the way things had gone through the Kansas game might allow "Nik Stauskas, for example," to regain his stroke. I also mentioned that Michigan looks like a "team of destiny."
Now, the team is starting to really look like a "team of destiny." Even if they don't win it all, getting to the Final Four is a huge accomplishment, especially considering where the program has been the last fifteen years.
This team doesn't look anything like the team that played the last portion of the Big Ten schedule. McGary's emergence has taken the pressure off of everyone, and between Burke, Hardaway, and Stauskas, somebody is going to hit their threes.
It's already been a great season, but it has a chance to be one of the two best seasons in Wolverine basketball history.
