Quinn is going to be Buffalo's next coach, if anyone is wondering

Come on home, sweet prince.

Damn we could use his recruiting prowess. Maybe he would make the decision to come back to Michigan and help out.
If he could coach linebackers I think we'd have a match made in heaven.

It sounds like he sought out UF as a potential next step, not sure if they're interested but he made a "pitch" to them at least.

Or just land on Meyer's staff somewhere? DC would surprise me. Make senses for Brown but I don't know about Florida. It doesn't seem like they are in need of a killer recruiter (unless they lost one in Strong ... don't know that much about their staff in this dept.) Hmmm ...

Yeah to replace Strong, it sounded like he was only going to be a strong option if Meyer's wasn't able to promote someone from within his staff.

I'd be surprised if Dan MacCarney wasn't promoted. He was a tough defensive coach when he was HC at Iowa State.

Yeah I agree with you, and he is probably the "someone" from my post above. It was interesting that he sought out UF of all places, I wonder if it means he is only looking for a DC position or higher?

So let me get this straight -- Corwin Brown thinks he is going to replace Charlie Strong as Florida's DC? The way NDs defense has looked the past few years, Brown will be lucky to get a job as a DC at a MAC school.

When you coach on the side of the ball that is generallly held responsible for getting the head coach fired at ND, it might be hard to get a promotion to head coach elsewhere. Brown needs to be a DC somewhere else, and kick royal ass. Then, he will be a viable HC candidate.
I hope he lands on his feet soon.

Corwin Brown probably isn't going to accept a job as a position coach. I think we should stop hoping.
December 21st, 2009 at 6:22 PM ^
Why not? He was one at ND and why would he be hoping for a step-up after being fired?
December 21st, 2009 at 7:23 PM ^
He was a defensive coordinator and a co-defensive coordinator. And lots of coaches are fired who then get the same position at another [sometimes smaller] school.

started as the DC at ND... then fat ass hired tenuta and made them co DC's. eventually tenuta became the full time DC and brown became a position coach with a fancy title...
