The offense has not been that great. It has 10 yards rushing at halftime and six points. Standards would have to fall pretty far for that to be a good half of offensive football.

The defense is even worse.

I'm asking, in all sincerity, if you knew certain recruits would come anyway, is there ANYONE on this staff you would want to retain?

Absolutely anyone on the staff you would be upset about losing if they left for somewhere else?

It's sad that there's absolutely no one on this staff I would miss if they weren't here next year. That makes me fucking miserable.

I don't have the answer and I'm not paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to dream one up, but man do we need to get something resembling a pass rush in the second half. Dennard and Waynes couldn't even pretend to hold up if you threw them out there right now.

D line non entity, LBs slow and cannot cover, DBS clueless-let's hope they come to life in second half or this is another Miss
State. Unless we can run ball conventionally, KSU defense will start teeing off. TD to open half critical.

I'm finding it harder and harder to say I would be disappointed if this coaching staff is gone.  It's quite clear we're going to just out-talent teams, not out coach them.

On the positive side, Shane looks good in this small sample size.

I have little to no faith that this staff can come up with a defensive answer, if they have had a month already and don't have one.  Hoke better figure out who the good coaches on this staff are, because if he goes to battle with this exact staff on both sides of the ball, next year might be THEIR last.

This defense looks RR worthy.  And the O line still can't open a hole.  Apparently they play better against big rivals and not against anyone else.

OSU must have a terrible defense.

Isn't it concerning we don't have anybody better at MLB? I haven't been this pissed in a long time. Why can't derrick green get on the field? I don't get it.

just haven't really seen any emotion besides Shane Morris.  i know its hard to look intense when the guy with the ball is running by you every play (so that rules out everyone on defense)- but cmon we need the seniors to get the team fired up.  Just look flat

Maybe our recruiting plan of high character kids is catching up....we are slow and unskilled. We have a bunch of guys that are simply average football players.

bingo.  3-5 years of below average recruiting result in average joes like clark and beyer and morgan, etc  - all of whom are supposedly teh teams best and most experienced playmakers.  unfortunately not gonna cut it if they want to win league titles.  hoke has obviously brought in more athletic kids like funchess but its tough to overcome half a roster of marginal athletes every game of every season.  perfect example is joe reynolds dropping that pass in 1st half....why is he playing?  he and jeremy jackson should not even sniff the field, especially if its just hoke and borges and wanting to reward hard work with a package / call during bowl game.  all 85 matter, if youre signing a project or projected role player, they better be elite athletes.  otherwise it will always be a struggle to beat osu and others in order to regain national relevance and league titles hoke preaches of.  need elite talent to win big games consistently.  theres a reason mattison coaches the way he does past few years ....weak DL forces him to play base most of time, needs the extra LB to try to offset DL getting blown off the ball.  and blitzing most 3rd downs and in goalline due to average athletes like beyer and clark serving as pass rush "specialists" despite rarely ever winning share of 1on1s.  really hope the 11 and 12 classes pan out since UM desparately needs elite playmakers all over the field and those classes consist almost 50 scholarships.  cant really fully judge hoke until those guys cycle through and have chance as upperclassmen, im still hopeful but current product and recent trends point to more average joes
