Copper Bowl Open Thread, MSU vs. TCU

Submitted by M-Wolverine on

The Alamo Bowl is going to run late so they'll probably start it on ESPNU or something. I don't know if I picked TCU because I thought they would win or I just wanted to root against MSU. Either way it made te night easier.

If TCU could have capitolized on their last two red zone trips this game would have been completely over!

Plus something I noticed was that neither team used a time out in the first half, not sure if I have ever seen that in a game before.

Based on their performance this season, I'd say instead of "laying in the weeds" sparty has been smoking the weeds before every game.

I'm loving that MSU is losing and going to lose. Sorry if that makes anyone annoyed. I'm not "roots for conference" guy. I hate MSU, they are our rival, and we don't want them to be good simply for recruiting sake.

All I saw when Maxwell retreated backwards was every play from the national championship against Florida. As it turns out, when your tackle doesn't have the foot work to keep up with the end, decreasing the angle of attack won't help either of you.

If they had their starting QB this season, I would not have been surprised to see them in a BCS bowl game this year.  They will be scary with that guy back (if he comes back) and their team is extremely young.

Re: Rooting for Conference If you are a Michigan fan, I think you root for the conference in general in the post season. The more the Big Ten wins the better the conference perception, which is good for Michigan. It's indirect, but helpful.
