"I promise you we would have walked to the University of Michigan." - Brady Hoke
Maybe he's just visiting because he wants to go to "the Game"! Cut the kid some slack, what happens if he ends up standing on the UM sideline, would everyone be cool with that?
"The goal, the expectation of this program is the Big Ten Championship"
Except that UM can't have visitors for the game. Away teams can't have visitors.

I wish he would decommit, or not visit. The fact that he thinks he's staying committed while taking visits bugs me.
I don't believe he thinks he's staying committed. By this point, Hoke's policy is clear. However, since he's been honest about everything, unlike Dawson and Brown, there's a chance he could recommit in Feb if we have an opening.
If you're doing nothing, how do you know when you're finished?
Didn't Clarett stand on Ohio's sideline when he took an official visit to UM?
"The goal, the expectation of this program is the Big Ten Championship"
this thread is a great example of reasons to bring back the old point system. Would love a bunch of these flamers to see a big ole' fashioned neg bomb.
Have fun with that "education".
Go Blue !!!
Dave Brandon: Detailed and thorough investigation proves that Freep report was intentionally misleading.
The, "see ya, we never wanted you anyway," responses here are really sad. As a fan base, I'd like to think we're better than this. The coaches obviously wanted him, or they wouldn't have offered. Let's be proud of our coaching staff and their ability to evaluate talent, and this excited for our class regardless of rankings. This young man isn't even old enough to vote. Why get so upset over any decision he makes? Would I like to see him come to Michigan? Absolutely. He seems like a very talented young man. Do I want him to keep to a commitment that would make him miserable for four years? Absolutely not. That would end poorly for both Michigan and Conley.
Parents are U of M grads. Earned my BS at Purdue. Both the fight songs I know by heart start with Hail.
I think the choice of game is what has people riled up. Personally I think the coaches can't pull his offer because they'd look pretty shady for that as he was honest the whole way through, but given the choice of this game for a visit, I'd be surprised if they put much effort into his recruitment. Conley may not mean to send a message, but that is definitely what he's doing whether he means to or not.
Chaos is found in greatest abundance wherever order is being sought. It always defeats order because it is better organized.
Can he recommit after his visits or is this it?
This is probably the turkey talking, but I have to wonder if maybe Meyer put him up to this. We know damn well he's committing to them on Saturday. What better way to stick it to us than having a commit flip during The Game.
Beat Ohio.
"I'm the guy who does his job. You must be the other guy."
It is quite likely that Urban is hoping for a "recruiting spin" from this approach. Whether Conley fits their scheme (unlikely) or whether Urban missed on bigger stars (likely), this late push is a publicity move.
It takes a few cycles for these games to start eroding a roster's fit and players/parents to recognize the publicity shenanigans.
"Everybody wants to be a hero, so to speak. But it takes everybody." - Charles Woodson
Now remember if Ohio is what we all know it is, we welcome you back with open arms. So hurry up down there before you lose your spot.
"I am excited to be with Brady and I am excited about where this program is headed" D C Coach Mattison
Maybe he wants to really know what it feels like to be on the losing end of THE GAME since he is committed to play for us., and how about those Houston Texans baby.
I like Brionte Dunn, it is
The state pays for it, it is
What has bugged me about Conley is his parents up to this point. Every article has been about them pushing for visits. It is their sons decision and up until recently it was Michigan... I hope it works out for him, but I hate reading articles about recruits parents wishes.
'Cause I Bleed Blue...
visit Ohio?
...confidence is the stain they can't wipe off...
Regardless who wins the game Conley will be gone. Goes back to Hoke saying make sure your done with visits to other schools before you commit to Michigan. I'm okay because I think Channing Stribling is an absolute STUD!!!!
Coach Hoke says "Hi"!
Idk, just go F5 his twitter or something.
I rely on you guys for twitter info :)

Well, if you're so reliant on us guys for everything, you'd know that any "big news" would be front paged, no? I just wouldn't advise coming into a thread about one of our recruits, only to essentially say "good riddance" and ask about another one. It makes you out to be disingenous, and is at the very least, offtopic to this thread.
Be resourceful and searrrrrch next time.
Honestly, I'd really rather not have Conley replaced, but I seem to be in the minority here (thread-wise). Too bad.
He is still a kid and is looking for what for him is the best option. The system Hoke has developed takes indecision into account. Hoke will not hold his position if Conley wants to shop around, but if Conley decides UM is the place for him, and a spot is still open, he is welcome. Ultimately, he will likely be more committed in such a scenario as he has done his homework. Preferably, all these recruits do their homework before they committ so there we don't have these situations, but in reality, it is unavoidable. Conley is a good recruit. If we lose him, our program survives and we will fill his spot with someone of equal or better value. If we get him, he will truly be committed. Either way, it is a good outcome.
Perhaps he's just going to visit his future Wolverine teamates. I'm fighting the urge to overreact.
If you don't ride a camel, you ain't shi'ite.
Man.
This is why we need to go back to the days of not knowing who the hell these kids were prior to showing up on the field.
This thread is an embarassment.

We need to trust our coaches to get the best available kids that fit their progam. We can't get them all. I would rather have a firm commitment from a lesser known athlete than one from a 5 star that waffles every other day.
It'll be ok. Go Blue.
Beat Ohio.

That is very, very kick ass.
