i find this extremely interesting
Conley decommits
Cool, so you know what happened? Maybe you can give some of the details. Or maybe, the coaching staff knew exactly where Conley stood and sent G Mattison out on a recruiting mission, as we are continuing to pursue him, despite the fact that he is de-committing.
Except for the other thing. That hurts the most. But the lack of respect hurts the second most.
But thanks for the super sarcastic comment.

Eating is murder.
They had a discussion. One thing that I notice about Mattison is his sincerity. If he is sitting with a kid who is unsure, maybe he just had a real heart to heart with the kid, and the conclusion was for him to decomitt so he can do what he has to do to be a peace with his decision.
Or, maybe not.

Sucks, but time to move on. Good luck to Conley and let us hope he does not go to Ohio.

Usually I would say best of luck to him, but he played us so yeah best of luck to the guys who actually want to be blue. Kid sounds like a headcase. Didn't he just say a day or two ago that he was 100 percent committed to Michigan?

Lets not let ANGAR dictate how we post. Calling the kid a "headcase" is close to Bolivian-worthy material. You stay classy, MGoBoard.
Disgruntled former moderator. I got a lot of problems with you people!
Well it's a little weird to say you are 100% committed one day and then decommitt a couple days later...

I agree that its a bit wishy-washy but I felt the need to proactively remind everyone to keep it clean. I don't want to have to moderate the thread.

But we're basing this off of what information exactly? Some tweets and texts he supposedly had with some insiders? He could have been just responding to get them and the fanbase off his back. Hell, Mattison could have told him in person Michigan considers him decommitted? Let's not go full rage and say something that makes the fanbase look bad to him or other recruits.
Can we make sure that someone is there to flame you everytime you change your mind.

They are trying to keep options open, and to please everyone. I suspect that many of the conflicting reports are due to nothing more than them being pressured for a response. They are just trying to make people go away.
The benefit to the fan base of talking to 17 year olds is that they will talk, where someone my age would just tell them to leave me the hell alone and don't step on the damned grass on your way out.
May you have a strong foundation

Conley, per a convo with TomVH ($,WN):
"Felt like I did it too early and didn't wait to see what else would come. I like Michigan but I like other schools too and I wanna visit them."
Gareon's probably going to find out that the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence.
I think Dawson may have found this out too.
Avatar is a reference to this. Go Blue!
Who are these various "people" on twitter? Any reputable sources on twitter saying so?
Would you consider Conley himself to be a reputable source?
I didn't see the other thread and didn't see any links on here until right after I submitted my post. Pardon me for asking
Tough titty said the kitty but the milks still good
So apparently tall CB's don't like to stick with us. How do you tell Mattison that you are decommiting or decide after seeing him?
FUCK OHIO...
You know, Dude, I myself dabbled in pacifism once. Not in 'Nam of course.
They don't stick with us or they go on twitter rampages about dirty subjects...dang Yuri Wright.

I'm guessing Mattison probably explained policy in clear terms during the visit and that led to the decommit.
We'll see if the staff still recruits him, hopefully they do, but I get the feeling this one's trending away from the good guys.
Best of luck to the kid as long as he chooses Oregon and not Urban.
Chaos is found in greatest abundance wherever order is being sought. It always defeats order because it is better organized.
Actually he was a 4 star to everyone except rivals. This is a blow.

This is one less secondary member of this class, so maybe McQuay will be A2 bound.
I'm having trust issues with football now. DAMMIT 18 YEAR OLD KIDS WHY CAN'T I COUNT ON YOU?
And hunch is that after face-to-face discussion, Mattison encouraged him to decommit and take his visits while making it explicitly clear that there was no guarantee of a spot in this class for him.
If he's still coming for an official visit to Michigan (as mentioned in the OP), all he's doing is officially decommiting (after discussing with the coaches and understanding the ramifications) and doing his due dilligence regarding other schools who are interested.
He could look around and then decide that Michigan is still the best school for him, and if there is room, recommit. This is different than other recruits, as there were a few discussions with the coaches and a meeting, this wasn't a commit scheduling an official without talking to the coaches and seeing where that puts his spot.

I considered this as well because of the timing. Better he is unsure now than January. It was all done on the up and up so Michigan continues recruitment. Here's hoping not too many Michigan "fans" are dicks to the kid and after all is said and done he comes back to the good side.
It sucks and I wish him well but this opens another spot for the class. Hopefully we can pick up another offensive lineman such as Kenny Lacy or Cameron Hunt. We desperately need depth on the o- line.
As long as this doesn't change my wife's plans on making enchilladas tonight, I don't care at all.
She just told me she's too upset to make enchilladas tonight.

Thanks for the comment. I enjoyed reading.
