Badgers could played better, but the refs got Spartans back
what he said
Fuck this thread and fuck MSU.
Thank you, they r now up thr with OSU as my most hated program, that loss last week ranks up thr with the 1990 losss
Why would we ever congratulate those sluts? Everytime I see D'antonio I want to punch him in his freakin mouth! That game was like watching death and this thread makes me want to barf...
Unfortunately, ya gotta give State some credit. They're... good?
No. No credit is due. Screw MSU and Dantonio's deal with the devil. To hell with them.
Eh. Just shows that the B1G is what most though it was: weak. Michigan State may be the class of the weakest Big Ten Conference in years. They'll still get their asses kicked by an Alabama or LSU.
Not disagreeing with you, the Big Ten is really down this year, but MSU is the one that is taking the lead. So give them credit for that. This excuse that a lot of us Michigan fans use of "well MSU beat 3 of the worst Michigan teams so it doesn't really count" and "well MSU is just winning the weakest Big Ten in history so it doesn't really count" sound ridiculous, sound bitter, and sound a lot like trying to invent a truth to make us fans feel better some how.
I hate both those teams that played, but neither is my team. My team is Michigan, and I care about Michigan football more than getting bent up about this game. Yes, I understand the implications this game has on Michigan going forward in hopes of a BCS bowl game. But I still don't put much stock in to others losing for Michigan to get there. When Michigan deserves to get there they'll just win the games. Here's to hoping that season comes soon and to stopping making this lame excuse because Michigan will be winning again.
I was pulling for Wiscy all the way on this one but you need to give the Sparties credit, they got the job done. Less and less under Dantonio are we seeing 'Sparty, no!' play, or if we are, like last week, they actually pull it out. Coach Dantonio has elevated the level of play over in EL and I feel they are actually 'good'.
I don't know where the conference rates relative to other years, OSU is certainly below expectations, but Wisconsin might be fielding their best squad ever. The national champion won't be coming from the Big Ten this year but I will take Wiscy, MSU, Penn State, Nebraska, 'us', and Iowa against the top 6 against the other major conferences and I think we'd hold our own against most of them.
I actually kind of think that makes us "good-ish," right. Looking at the bright side this morning. If Wisky is good, making State "good," ya know, maybe we are......
Fuck state times two.
that was clearly a touchdown. Anyone claiming it wasn't indisputable has some serious homer goggles on.
Why don't you just admit to being a sparty fan? You never have anything good to say about Michigan and are always sucking on sparty's balls. Your act is getting old.
because I'm not a sparty fan?
I wouldn't admit it either.
I see I'm going to have to do this:
I'm a 2006 LS&A graduate who literally decided at the age of 3 that I was going to go to the University of Michigan because I loved their football team. I was in the stands for Braylonfest and Woodson's pick, both of which probably rank somewhere in the top 20 moments of my life. I was also in the stands for Spartan Bob, which is unquestionably one of the 10 worst. I've posted like 6000 times on Mgoblog since it started counting comments and posted hundreds of times back when it still used Haloscan. I've never posted on an MSU board on my life.
Thinking that was clearly a touchdown doesn't make me a state fan, and I can't think of another "yay MSU" post I've made, ever.
I'm thinking he should have put a /s on his post. At least I hope he was
obscure Michigan facts to prove that I'm a Michigan fan?
I was at Lindenfest in 2005 when it got broken up at like 9:30 because some kid punched a cop. I took not one but two classes from Hanes Walton, Jr. At no point did it seem like he had prepared for one of those classes. I'm still pissed that the liquor store at the corner of South U and South Forest apparently closed, because it carried varieties of Bells that I've never seen anywhere else.
This is some seriously weak shit.
Well you're shit out of luck!!!
*in Hanes Walton Jr. voice*
And then yo' gonna what?.....
Come on guys, you know this... Shit ok guess we'll come back later.
His lectures were epic, miss those days
and I was accepted! I'm not sure if it was in spite of him or because of him, but dang it, I was accepted to the program so that's nice. Maybe my other two references were awesome? Idk, but it's a fun debate to have in my head when I'm bored. Hanes Walton Jr. was a defining memory of my UM experience.
Not sure if sarcastic or pretty pretty princess...
So our loss to Sparty doesn't mean we suck?
If you honestly think State didn't deserve a single penalty all game, then you have mental issues.
offsides on the big 3rd and 9 went completely unnoticed, wait thats just my maize and blue goggles on
Why do we even need to talk about them? Who gives a shit.
Let's not congratulate them.
Let's not say "fuck state" lest we become them.
Fuck this thread.
post that shit on a sparty board
I don't think the refs should make that call. Stick with the call on the field. I didn't see indisputable evidence. Let the teams decide it in OT, not a maybe call on a fluke play. I really think that's a bad call. Maybe they had a different angle, but I don't like it.
crossed the line when he swung his arms up.
They didn't need a different angle. It was clearly a touchdown. The catch was made. The pile moved. The ball broke the plane. Great angle, no questions. Hail Mary balls always have the chance of that kind of thing happening. That's why you throw them. How can you not think that's a great ending to a great game? If it's cuz you are a homer then just say so but don't pretend otherwise.
You can't even see the ball on any of the replays. Terrible call because there wasn't indisputable evidence to overturn. All you see is the Wisconsin player's hands. It looked close, but the ball was invisible and therefore they shouldn't have made the call. The ruling on the field should have stood.
You are blind. Clear TD. Sucks. But reality.
How so? When you don't see the ball it's not indisputable. If the brown "pigskin" of the ball was visible and seen touching the goal line I'd say sure, but in not a single one of those replays do you see even a piece of the ball.
The shot right down the line shows the ball. Sportscenter even added a vertical line and highlighted the ball. Clearly over the line.
I just looked at it on my computer again and it still looks too close to overturn. The only angle it looks like it might touch is the diagonal one, but on both straight horizontal angles you don't see the ball and it looks too close to call. Without seeing the ball I just don't see how it's indisputable. I understand how it might have touched, but I just don't think it was indisputable and that's the key distinction that needs to be made. It's not "oh it might have crossed we have to give it to them." The replay needs to be "clear and indisputable" evidence to overturn the call and I don't see.
I watched it on a 47" 1080p TV the first time and the second time on a 20" 720p computer monitor and neither time did it look indisputable. Had it been called TD on the field I wouldn't be saying a word, but on a play that close I think the officials call should have stood.
Seems like we are just gonna disagree. The replays I have seen show the ball pinned to his chest, clearly crossing the line. Even former Badgers like JJ Watt are tweeting it was a clear TD.
Doesn't really matter anyways, call stands, and our chances of B1G title game take a hit.
You could clearly see half of the ball sticking out as it was pressed to the recivers chest. It breaks the plane when he stands up before the pile pulls him back Maybe this means our loss isnt so bad though and we held them to 10 less points.
There was not enough evidence to over turn the call on the field.
If you don't think that was a TD then you have some serious goggles.
quite a performance by sparty; gholston missed out on quite a game
2 x I guess
After an exciting win like that, one facebook post from a Sparty high school fried writes "Michigan vs. Notre Dame game of the decade my ass. Go State. Anyone doubt Sparty now?" They still cannot do anything good without referencing Michigan. So...not a lot has changed.
That was a great win, no doubt. But the real question to me is...can they do that again? At a neutral site? I'm still skeptical. But they are clearly the best team in the division, no doubts about that.
The fact still remains that we came back from a three score deficit, and there were three touchdowns scored by both teams within the last 3 min of the game. By comparison, MSU damn near choked the game away and scored on some lucky shit after being held scoreless the entire fourth quarter. Somebody's inferiority complex is really showing.
I definitely agree with Louie. While this may be THEIR game of the decade, it doesn't beat a game involving the flagship program in the state, plus another historically famous team, scoring 3 TD's in the final 1:28 of the game.
All this game really ammounts to is MSU avoiding the most Epic of Sparty NO!'s
The irony of your post referencing a Spartan fan talking about Michigan while concurrently talking about Michigan State on a Michigan blog almost caused my head to explode.
Joined today? Check. First post ever? Check. I highly doubt and Michigan fan would join only to refute my statement. I mean, you think I'm that dumb? Either that, or what does that say about you if you're a Michigan fan that decided to join based on what some random commenter said on a thread about Sparty? Why didn't you join earlier, when, you know, Michigan had games and such? Seems fishy...
Michigan didn't play today. So I'm on a Michigan blog discussing results of other important and relevant Big Ten games. It's not really irony, much like how Alanis wasn't really ironic (which really shows the true irony of the song). Wisconsin v MSU was easily the most relevant forum topic on the Blog here today. Because it had big implications on Michigan's chances to win the Big Ten.
A Sparty troll calling me ironic is the real irony. And my head just asploded from THAT.
this season's loss to MSU appears to have caused more trauma than I thought. I hate MSU, but it's still a game, and they beat us. Can we talk about Purdue or some other remaining games and quit obsessing over sparty?
The fact of the matter is that MSU should have won that game by multiple scores, but their offense had three 3 and outs in a row which led to Wisky's comeback. Then, when it should have gone into OT, Bret Bielema decides he wants to be gluttonous (big surprise there) and call a timeout on 3rd % 9 with under a minute to go. It wasn't an epic comeback rivalry game as the UM/ND game was. Not to mention, as I'm sure others have mentioned, the average college football fan couldn't care less about Sparty.
as some sort of internal validation for Michigan's loss last week. Something along the lines of 'okay, they're pretty good team, we lost, now we can move on and win the next few games.'
But at the same time this will make it a lot more difficult for us to go to the BTCG. Damn.
That being said. Congrats to State, thats huge win for those guys.
As hard as it is to admit, Michigan State is probably the best team in the Big 10 right now. Losing to them, in retrospect, should have been expected. Next year they'll be losing a large bunch of talent, so we'll get them then.
Second best. Still think UW is the best. MSU played great, but take away a derpy 2nd quarter by UW and they win. You can't always count on a blocked FG, blocked punt for TD, intentional grounding for a safety, and most impotently, a hail Mary to win. UW and MSU will meet again in Indy, and we'll find out then. I was really impressed with the no penalties by MSU though.
We probably don't need two threads recognizing this finish.
Thanks for doing this.
What a moment for Keith Nichol though. After all he's been through, he catches a game winning hail mary. This will be the night of his life.
Bad end game management by Bret. MSU played a decent game but nothing impressive (sorry i'm not being a homer I really just wasn't impressed). Thought it was funny that the helmet to helmet call that took Ball out of the game wasn't called. Just an observation it didn't look dirty to me or anything. The last 10 seconds that refused to tick off from the second to last play made me laugh so hard. It didn't effect (affect?) the game though they still had time for that last play but it still made me giggle. MSU holds the legends division in their hands completly. Congrats to them. I won't be impressed until they beat Wisconsin on a neutral field in the B1G championship game which they really look like they will be there. That is all.
Congrats to MSU.... you should be burned with the couches!!!!
than good, thats what Mom always said.
And Rod Allen.
Dumb, dumb timeouts by Wisconsin especially the one on 3rd and 8 with 30 seconds left.
this is a real bad loss for the B1G
Excellent observation. The B1G has 0 chance of a national championship appearance now. It's the damn SEC and BIG 12 and Oklahoma is already losing at half time. Could be a possible BS sec only national championship (yes I know that is highly unlikely but you are going to hear about it for the rest of the year if Oklahoma loses).
Well let's not forget the two SEC teams play each other. And noone from the SEC East is going to beat LSU/Bama in the CG. So unless Stanford, Clemson, AND OSU all lose multiple games then it won't be an all SEC matchup
Stop posting this congratulatory "stuff" about MSU and talking about how great they are and how much we should respect them. Take it to RCMB, no one wants that here, this is a Michigan blog
Congrats my ass.
Congrats, MSU. Insane game. I'm not happy with the outcome, but they capitalized on Wisconsin mistakes and got a couple bounces, which is what you always need to do to win football games. Hate to admit it, but they're a great team right now.
There is no team in the whole Big 10 that is a great team. None. Have you watched any non-conference games?
Great is a relative term I guess... They've got a really good defense and a solid offense, normally if you put those two together you get a great (or good, or swell, or solid, or effective) team. A weak B1G is good for us right now, not sure what the problem is with recognizing that MSU is playing well at this point.
Refusing to give MSU any credit that they're actually good (when they clearly are) feels like the analogue to the MSU inferiority complex towards UM. It's annoying.
Wisconsin is a pretty good team. MSU just beat them, fluke or not. MSU therefore is also a good team. Is there something wrong with admitting this? I don't get it.
A great team is a national title contender. MSU is not a MNC contender, not even close. Anyone who has watched LSU or Alabama play would realize this. If MSU played 'Bama it would be a repeat of last year's bowl blowout. I'm not saying this because I hate Sparty (although I do) or because I love Alabama (I don't). It's just the truth.
You do understand that the meaning of "great" is highly subjective, right? If I look it up in a dictionary, is it going to tell me that "the only great teams are national title contenders?"
to give an explanation of greatness as applied to teams. If I look up "light" in order to understand what shoes are light, then the dictionary won't tell me that only shoes that are less than 20lbs are light. Yet, it's still true that any shoe that weighs over 20lbs is not light.
There may still be difficult cases, e.g. there may be shoes that are less than 20lbs that are still not light. There might be some unreducible vaguness in the term "light shoe" such that for certain cases, like a 4.5lb shoe, we just can't say whether it counts as a light shoe. But none of this makes "light" somehow subjective. Nor does it alter the fact that shoes have to be less than 20lbs to be light.
If an NCAA team is a great team, then it must be one of the best teams in the NCAA. MSU is not and hence they are not great. You can still call them " a great team", using whatever meaning you decide to give to "great", but your not speaking the same language as myself and the rest of English speakers.
If an NCAA team is a great team, then it must be one of the best teams in the NCAA
If this is how you define a great team, fine, good for you. But how do you define that anyway? "One of the best teams in the country" could simply mean Top 25, of which Sparty is more than assured. Or do you mean Top 5?
And your shoe example makes no sense. If I were a mouse, a 4.5 lb shoe would be extremely heavy to me. If I were an elephant, it would feel light as a feather. It's all relative, hence, all subjective.
I happen to feel that if you're in the top 25 and you beat a top 10 ranked team, you're probably one of the best teams in the country and deserve the word "great" as a descriptor. Does that mean that they could beat LSU or Alabama? Probably not. But that doesn't mean they're not a great team...it just means Alabama and LSU are better, and on a whole different level of greatness.
subjective. You realize that some term being subjective means it depends on the internal states of the speaker right? Simply because a term has different meanings in different contexts does not make it subjective, e.g. "now" has different meaning in different contexts but it's not subjective that it's sunny now in Ann Arbor. Wilt Chamberlain is tall, but he's not tall relative to a mountain. that doesn't make tallness subjective. Whether Wilt Chamberlain is tall is not dependent on my subjective state. It does have something to with the context in which were discussing tallness. To use your example, if we are talking about shoes for mice, then 4.5lbs is heavy regardless of what you think. If we are talking about shoes for people, then 20lbs is heavy, regardless of what I think. These terms are not subjective.
Sure MSU is great relative high school football teams, but that's not the context in which the remark was made. We're on a college sports blog, in fact a blog about a top 25 college football team. In this context MSU is not a great team. It's not like I said MSU is not great because they couldn't beat the 1985 Bears or the 1992 Dream Team. I was comparing them to other 2011 FBS teams. Further, I don't need to specify a particular cut-off point for "one of the best teams" (although I happen to 5 is about right) anymore than I need to define "bald" in terms of the number of hairs on a person's head before I can call Al Borges bald.
Using your reasoning, I there is nothing wrong with claiming that EMU is a great team. After all, they are better than some teams, and I just understand "great team" as a team that's better than 5 FBS teams. So EMU is a great team, even though teams like Michigan and Toledo are on whole different plane of greatness. Likewise, while most people thought Michigan played poorly against MSU, I can truthfully say they played great since they played well enough to beat EMU. Did you see the great defense Michigan had last year? They were great, it's just that other offenses were super duper great!
Can't wait for basketball.
They are easily the best team in the Big Ten, unless Ohio St--- or Wisco--- errrrrrrr shit out of excuses. Yeah, best team in the Big Ten. Sparty plays NW and Iowa poorly, historically. You never know
I hate that sparty is actually good now, what the fuck!
but seriously, half the threads over the past week have been about MSU. Can we take a step back from the ledge?
I can't help but laugh at this point. How can you beat such devilry that is at work in East Lansing? They're having their day right now. Oh well, not much we can do til we beat them.
"How can you beat such devilry that is at work in East Lansing?"
I bet getting some priests to stand at the 50 yard line in Spartan Stadium and chant "THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!!" while flailing holy water would do the trick. Hey, gotta find some humor in all of this.

I still think Wisconsin will beat them on a neutral field, but you have to give credit to them. They are living a charmed life in E.L.
Nice use of your timeouts Bret.
On this, I'd prefer silence. If asked I'll be honest, but I'm not going to volunteer it.
We are totally going to be in TWIS on a bye week.
WVU or, if it continues, Oklahoma
they won end of story no at a boys from me.
Yeah it seems like the team that loses the first game always has an advantage in the rematch. I'd rather play in the first BTCG though.
Was that not a false start on the left side of the MSU line that last drive?
...don't have it on DVR anymore; think it was the 3rd down conversion?
Anyone who wasn't impressed by that game by MSU is by definition homer. They played an amazing game. I hate State as much as anyone else, but there's really nothing good about this. State is really a good team, Dantonio is really a good coach (if an asshole), the B1G sucks, Sparty No is not much of a meme anymore, and MSU is going to be playing in Indianapolis. MSU is a good team. They beat Ohio State on the road, made Michigan fans question if Denard Robinson should be a starting quarterback, and then beat Wisconsin tonight, which nobody ever expected.
Next year doesn't look that much better for us playing them. They lose a lot of talent on offense, but their defense is young and is still very good.
Things just suck. Fuck my life.
I wouldn't say they played amazing. They played good enough to win, but they also let Wisconsin back in it after having a commanding lead. Not to mention that first quarter was terrible. They're a good team, not great, but good. And in the Big Ten this year, that means something.
it was a hail mary win. Two quirk special teams plays to even get back into the game.
I was at the Colorado game and it WAS A HAIL MARY - DESPERATION.
They were not a better team.
Sparty No is and always win be a meme. 1 game and 2 years of success don't take away 21 games over the last 10 years of Sparty No! When the game comes down to a hail-mary it means a few things; either a team choked away a lead, or it was a close game. And MSU almost choked away the game, this win doesn't change it. I'll give them credit, they capitalized on the various mistakes made by Wisky, but this doesn't erase the history of Sparty. And part of that history are various mid-season collapses, which very well could happen.
Just adding to the Sparty mediocrity, on the OU/TT game not once have they mentioned the UW/MSU game on any of the Gamebreaks. Freaking NASCAR is getting more mention than MSU
I got a TimeOut, maybe Bielma should have given his to me rather than using them?
No need to be immature about it.
I don't think anyone is claiming MSU are world beaters this year, but they do have a decent team. A well played game by them. To be all upset because of that is a very Sparty-like thing to do. Give credit where credit is due.
No BCS for us. Not going to happen. It's either going to be Sparty and Wisco or only one of them.
Does Dantonio get hired in Columbus? Seems like the perfect guy for that job.
Are we ready for the BCS? That would mean playing a team like Bama, LSU, Clemson, OU, Oklahoma, Stanford, Oregon, or Boise. Let's take a Capital One type Bowl for now
Seriously, after what was said here last week, you can keep your congrats. Some of you are bringing up some missed off sides in a pathetic attempt to cry foul. We didn't commint one penalty--we save that stuff for your team. We'll have more for you next year at your place.
Hide your couches.
Shut. Up. Watch your Gilmore Girls episodes.
This is why no one likes you/sparty. Every single spartan fan has Napoleon Complex, you just beat the #6 team in a great game at home, and yet you are on a michigan blog....congrats you have the better team again 4 years in a row, but you guys will always be little brother when you acknowledge Michigan everytime you win a game when you aren't playing them.
Your team just gets a huge win, and the first thing you do is go to your rivals blog to troll? I don't want to get in trouble for calling you a douche, but you're a douche.
And yet you're on a Michigan blog rather than celebrating with your fellows fans? Maybe you should stick to Gilmore Girls instead of Football
Not called. Game changing. You have to admit the breaks went Sparty's way.
Fuck this thread
Can't get the energy to hate sparty that badly. They want us to care about them as much as they care about us. Sorry, we. Just. Don't. Care.
Crazy game... At the same time, if I hear them bitch about how we were lucky against ND, I will be the first to remind them that it took them 2 interceptions, a blocked field goal, a safety, a blocked punt returned for a touchdown, the leading Wisconsin rusher missing 1/2 the game, the opposing team taking timeouts for them, and a 44 yd hail mary to win the game.
If all of these events occuring in a 60 minute span isn't lucky than I don't know what lucky is.
Not to mention having 0 penalties called against them
I don't think we need to congratulate sparty on a win just so we can claim we're not as petty as sparty. The nature of a rivalry is that we don't like them and want them to lose, especially when it benefits us. The fuck sparty and you got all the calls sparty nonsense is even worse though. That IS acting like sparty. Both sides being presented in this thread are stupid in my opinion. But I guess that's what the blog is for.
The only good thing about this thread is the talk about Hanes Walton, Jr. I propose we redirect all future discussion in this thread to him.
-He is the only professor I had that ended every class with "Go Blue!".
-iWatches and BMWs
-90m class never going longer than an hour
-His 15 books
I'll never congratulate that ag school! Any one of the top SEC schools will steamroll the fuck out of Sparty. MSU fans don't even know what the hell a good team is. I thought WI was but they are a slow, fat and flawed team! Soon Michigan will rise above the top of the sour cream teams in this conference!
we're getting a shot at Alabama next September...I still think we can win that game but we have to keep getting better...we could have easily beaten Sparty last week
stay optimistic...things can change quickly
I have to say beating Alabama next year would almost make all of this schadenfreude worth it. That would get M some national respect.
/thinking about next year before the end of this year and basketball. Though this may happen again.
Query. For people have had the luxury of not bring stuck at a wedding and could watch, did they win as cleanly as the stats indicate?
concur. dantonio is a douche but he is showing himself to be a good coach. kudos to them, and it will just make knocking them back down that much sweeter.
I just received confirmation from East Lansing that there are things burning in the streets. Although at this time, it seems to be contained to just chairs, and not couches yet.
Can't up this... I just seriously hate that program so much. Plus I got some friends that go to Wisconsin and I've been there so I had to root for them.
Last week's game against them really ramped up my hatred of them, so excuse me if I am rude, but do we really need a thread congradulating them? I mean, a thread that doesn't discuss the game in any way, but just gives them credit?
Fuck Michigan State.
they lose all credibility with that loss, lol
If this thread was an actual physicle object that I could hold in my hand, I would crumble it up and cram it up your ass. I think too many people on this board attended way too many sensetivity classes.
There's no reason to give Staee credit. They won on a miracle Hail Mary. Sure, they played well enough to put themselves in position to win at the end. But anyone who has watched sports before can tell you that the better team doesn't always win.
If I was a State fan, I'd be ecstatic. But since I'm not, I'll cling to the rationale that they were lucky.
They pulled out the win tonight regardless of the controversial reversal of the touchdown. However, they still have to prove they can win on the road. Going into Lincoln to face Nebraska won't be easy, and I expect Nebraska's defense to step it up a notch!!!!!
Yeah, they're MSU and because of that I strongly dislike them, but they have the best Football team in the Big Ten. I hate saying it, and it's not just because I'm really drunk, but they're probably going to be the Big Ten champs this year. We can't catch them unless they SPARTY NOOOOO their last few games. They're not classy, but they did what they had to do. It disgusts me to say that.
Ah yes, the famous "they just won a big game, they must be the best in the Big 10." Wiscy has been destroying teams all year and just lost on a Hail Mary pass on the road. Stuff happens. I still think Wiscy and NU are the top teams in the conference, with MSU third. Beating two teams at home, one with a fluke TD at the end and the other with a whole bunch of rough play and a gift-wrapped INT doesn't strike me as dominant.
Congratulations, MSU. You made fewer mistakes than Wisconsin, and indeed, capitalized on some of theirs. As much as I hoped you would lose, I must admit to chuckling a little bit at Bielema's odd version of clock management. Not impressed, still think you're "little brother" based on general attitude, and at neutral site, you likely lose that game. Congratulations all the same though. *gingerly pats Sparty on back, then disinfects hand*
Geez, I'd love to say it was not a TD, but he crossed the line with the football. As much as it sucks for Michigan fan, that was a TD.
Hopefully MSU lays another egg like they did against ND. Still don't know how ND beat them.
You need to love the 180 post threads fullmof people explaining why MSU doesn't matter
MSU is better than us
this is not worth freaking out over
I don't understand how some of us (myself included at times) have gotten our self esteem as Michigan fans tied up in being better than Michigan State... let them have their time in the sun and just hope like hell that we get back there asap.
dick head coaches in the B1G (probably the nation). I was rooting for a bullet pass to Dantonios face, or a power sweep right at Bret, but neither happened. I hate games like this, where I can't stand either team but I still root for both, when they play OSU. With that being said, I hope Wisky rebounds and kicks the shit out of that school in Ohio next week...
ESPN played the highlights and post-game interview with Dantonion again (and again, and again, and again) and Dantonio proclaims "What a great call by Roushar."
What a great call? Really Mark? GREAT call?! It was a last second desparation "Hail Mary". It's the same play
Unoriginal playcalling IS great playcalling at MSU.
I did get a chuckle out of the students who thought "Free Willy" painted on their chests was a clever idea, though. I wonder how much beer at the frat house it took to come up with that. And if that was their best idea, I can only imagine what some of the others might have been: "our coach is a bigger dick than yours" --no-that would take too many people; "Tear off Wilson's head!" --too obvious. In a close vote, "Free Willy" beat out "Wuck Fisconsin," but only because they couldn't agree on how to spell it.
I don't like Sparty or Wiscy. Year after year, Wiscy plays cream puffs and then wonders why they aren't ranked higher. Sparty is Sparty. They both suck.
Having said that, both teams are very good, but with weaknesses. Wiscy has a lousy secondary an overall average D. Sparty has an undisciplined secondary and a weak O line that was exploited last night.
Regardless, that was a great win for Sparty.
MS Who can sit on it & spin. Lucky bastards.
These grapes, they are quite sour.
Is that it makes our loss to them look less bad.
That said, screw them, screw their coach and screw the whole program.
for being the classless-act of the B1G. I'd just as soon see those som-bitches lose all the rest of their games than congratulate them for anything.
