Congrats Fred Smith!

Hey guys, everyone give a shout out to Fred Smith who caught a pass for 3 yards tonight, the 2nd reception of his career at MSU!  I'm glad to see that the future face of their program, the next Burress/Rodgers has just been tearing it up lately.  In 3 years, Smith has logged:

  • 2 Receptions for 10 yards
  • 1 charge on his criminal record
  • 0 minutes played on the basketball team

...I don't think coming down on 18  or 20 year olds whose career hasn't worked out is very cool. Also, he's not a Michigan man...

I prefer to talk about players who play for the University of Michigan.

Haha remember that kid who plays on a rival football team whose life isn't turning out at all the way he hoped? Hahahahaha what a loser! I hope he continues his downward spiral!

Come on man, don't be a dick.

what the hell is wrong with you people?  sports exist for 2 reasons, for the players to play and the fans to talk shit about.  I really hate the holier than thou attitude some of the fans here have

I just think that its fairly certain that the people complaining about this post talk shit about people in their everyday lives without them being able to defend themselves, to act like this fairly tame post disappoints people seems a little stupid

Fred Smith was the star of Michigan State's '08 recruiting class.  Check it out:

His choice of MSU over UM was aggressively rubbed in our Wolvie faces.  DANTONIO TAKING OVER STATE DUHHHHHHHH!  As well, he's from the (in)famous Detroit Southeastern High School.

So, I can understand (but not necessarily condone) a little schadenfreude here.

While we're on the subject of MSU receivers, how 'bout that Keith Nichol?  He's the one that the genius Phil Steele put on his preseason All Big Ten team (3rd/4th) ahead of a passel of Michigan receivers who have, so far, outgained him against better competition.

It's early, so I suppose he has time to explode and prove Phil right.
