i think we all are excited.  however, the whole "go blue or die" thing might be a bit much.  i don't think we should be threatening recruits.  but hey, that's just me.

Should note that "Go Blue or Die!" or #GBOD is a phrase a lot of the commits for this class have adopted on twitter as sort of a rallying cry and way of recruiting others. So before people crucify the OP, know that is where it comes from.

I like you so well. Both my wife and I think Eddie is the best comic in the business. We've seen him on stage twice. Amazingly funny guy. His whole schtick about being a "male lesbian" has to be one of the best lines of all time.

Are you...placing a hex on this kid? C'mon, just because he doesn't Go Blue doesn't mean we should curse him to death. I defy you, and your dark magics!!!

He totally wants to pull the trigger, and I'd be surprised if he didn't.  He's a great OT, we need a great OT, Mcihigan rox, it's a perfect match.

That, and the fact that a number of top OTs are showing interest in M right now and if he doesn't pull the trigger today he might not get a chance to next time.  Not only are OLs excited about the offense here and what's happening at UM, but I think they're loving the depth chart.  Two OTs from this class will be back-ups their RS frosh year, and two (likely the same two) will be starters their RS soph years and beyond.  That's a very good situation to be in.

I agree, I think he's been a silent commit type for a couple weeks.  Not in the sense that he's committed and hasn't gone public yet, but more in the sense that he's committed in his head and wants to do the deed in person.

This will also be big for our other OL recruits.  3 OL spots taken, likely only 2 or 3 left, and one should be reserved for a guard.  If your name is Diamond, Thurston, Banner, Garnett, etc you'll need to start thinking quickly or your M spot might be gone.

I will also bet that Diamond speeds up his process.  I know that he'd like to draw it out like Bryant did, but this year there's no luxury like there was with the RR staff.

I haven't heard much about Thurston since his visit, so I'm a bit skeptical that we're getting him (especially since he's announcing soon).

I wonder if this staff is still high on Dodson.  Or Pirsig.

I wouldn't mind Olson as the third OL too.  Would love Banner - it might depend on how his visit goes on ND weekend.

RS?  Why would that not be "Two OTs from this class will be back-ups their true frosh year"

Huyge leaves this year and we're left with Lewan and Schofield.  If Posada's an OT, he'll be a RS back-up, but that's it.  We need 2-3 kids who can play as back-ups as TF (Magnuson, Diamond, Banner)

Let me know I'm wrong.  Please.

think the belief is Omameh could bounce outside if necessary and RS frosh Posada and Bryant could probably help out if necessary even if they're better fits at guard.

A guy like Diamond or Banner could probably play too. With Magnuson, I think he has the most upside of any OL we might bring in but he's going to need a redshirt year just for bulk purposes.

Yeah, it's probably somewhere in the middle. I doubt any of these guys will burn a RS to play as true frosh but it's possible that one of them comes in ready to see the field. Outside of Boren, I can't think of another M OL who didn't redshirt. I can't think who the last OT was.

But they did seem to suggest Omameh is better in space than man up, at least through last year.  He's going to have a killer year IMO, but he doesn't look to be an OT.  I believe the coaches said last year that Barnum could slide in a pinch, but none of it is optimal.  And a few injuries = 2010 CB depth pretty quickly.

Losing Jake Fisher and getting only 1 OL (center Christian Pace) the year prior puts us in a very tough spot.  RR should have been hounding every OT in the country in last year's recruiting cycle.  But yes, this should be a huge sell for the current recruits.

My dad took me to a UM/tsio game at the horseshoe and two red-faced hillbillies threatened us on our way out. I was like 4.  Let's not resort to threats.
