Your metaphors, they frighten me.
...says Denzel Valentine of Big Ten Tourney favorite MSU, which is 5-7 in its last 12 games. Cumong, man.
Your metaphors, they frighten me.
...your username frightens me.
I love it when a 17 year old says he'd going to "shock the world'. I've got news for him - picking his college - whichever one he chooses - will NOT shock the world in the least.
If he really wants to "shock the world" do something that 17 year old's never, ever do. Like returning his parents car with gas in it after he takes it out or making his bed without his mom yelling at him. Now THAT would shock the word.
Or cure cancer....that one's still out there for the taking. Nobody's expecting a 17 year to do that.
I guess that's what I have to look forward too when I'm older. Funny post
I know he said tmrw, but, Is there an exact time that we can fast forward to? Is a t.v. Time reserved on all the networks?
shock the world = 3 vowels in total.
"Green" starts with the letter G. Same first letter of the name Gabe.
Derrick Green is Gabe Newell.
"Shock the world" = Half Life 3 Confirmed
Another well-founded and logical conclusion.
Well played, Sir.
There are certain times when you just have to trust your gut and read a kids body language and mannerisms. Green looks like a Michigan back to me. He carries himself like a Michigan man and just gives me the feel of a B1G back. He could shock us all and commit elsewhere but it would be against a metric ton of sense and conventional thinking. Logic and the past two months says he will be a Wolverine. That being said logic doesn't always prevail in college football recruiting.
Hopefully he is just trying to give some excitement to decision everyone is expecting.
Did anyone think maybe it's a homage to the fab five?
Is he has no idea who Juwan Howard is and stated he would shock the world because he is going to pick the school most expect him to...ah, those teenagers.
This is a serious question. Just curious what time I should start checking mgoblog tomorrow at work.
Going to announce between 4-6.
Should be home in time for wife to give me a weird look regardless of his decision.
Auburn does not and will not lose a recruit to a non-SEC school.
negativity around here, maybe it's time for people just to sit back, stop speculating and let Derrick pick his school. If he goes blue, it would be flippin epic, if not, so be it.
Do we get muppets if he commits? I know it's probably jumping the gun for muppets since he's still in high school...buuuuut damn it'll be nice to have someone who can break a tackle not named Denard.
that he knew where he was going at the all american game, and now reading a rivals article he said he's 80-90% sure where hes going. I felt like at the ua game he was solid blue, down to taking pics with the team, now I don't feel as confident.
Even if he was 100% sure, he's had in-home visits from all the schools this week. It's not that surprising that he would be a little less positive right now.
Calm down. He's blue. Did anyone not see what Green retweeted a few posts below? It was a Blockhams cartoon of him selecting a Michigan hat with the quote,"the best decision you will ever make." Some good with the Internets can link it if they so please. Go Blue!
Yeah, I heard Greg Mattison told Green he could be the next Ray Lewis.
You have mentioned this before but how similar/different was the competition Deveon and Derrick Green competed against...who faced better HS competition?
Kind of what I figured, hard to really tell though just watching a couple of highlight films...is Deveon faster than Rawls?
Both of them have claimed a 4.5-ish time in the forty. In my opinion, both are pretty equally slow. If they break long runs, it will be because of broken tackles, not because they're outrunning anyone.
Panthers5 will probably pop out of the woodwork and start another argument, but here's the deal with the competition:
Green faced better athletes on a regular basis.
Smith faced teams with better records.
If you watch Smith's highlights, you will see a steady stream of him being chased down and cutting back against 5'7", 145 lb. white kids. And don't get me wrong - the highlights are impressive, and he put up good numbers. But the athletes Smith played against aren't the same caliber as they are in the Richmond area.
So you mean they aren't white kids chasing down Green in Richmond?
Bigger, faster, stronger.
I watched his film, but never saw "a steady stream of him getting chaced down." Maybe you can point those out. Unless you're counting the plays where he breaks several tackles. You normally don't hit top speed when you have two guys hanging onto you for dear life, even if those guys are 145 pounds.
You normally don't have two guys hanging on for dear life if you're outrunning them.
And those guys hanging on for dear life will be 200 lbs. or more in college.
The defense starts out in front of the offense in football. You have to get passed them before you can outrun them. This isn't track.
Thanks for telling me how football works.
Regardless, we're just going to have to agree to disagree. I think Smith lacks speed, and there are a lot of people who agree with me, including:
and Josh Helmholdt from Rivals, who has said that Smith's lack of a 4th star is largely because he lacks breakaway speed.
