Come on BBall!!!

What was more frustrating watching Sims not get the ball being defended by a 5' 6" guy or watching him not be able to score against said midget when he finally got it. Disgusting.

Describes the whole team right now. I have had it with their 3 point contest offense, and that 1-3-1 "zone" D- we have 1 big man who shoots outside instead of driving into the lane, drawing contact, and getting fouled. This team will never win until it learns to go to the basket.

I seriously wonder if Beilein could've seen this coming back in October... I mean none of us could, but he was there in practice where I'm sure the shots were just as ugly

This is absolutely sad. This team sucks and they should be ashamed of themselves after the way they played this season. Kinda reminds me of the pistons how they screwed around, but the Chauncey always bailed us out

or was Dunne supposed to return to the team tonight? In watching I didn't see him. Seemed like something just took the wind out of the whole squad. Or, maybe they all had the shits or hangovers from the Markley sExperience. Nowhere but up...

Why does Grumpy Baby (i.e. Zach Gibson) always manage to foul people while simultaneously letting them score layups?

Why does Stu Douglass play point guard? Also, why is he the worst defender I've ever seen? How many times did he fail to close out on an open shooter? Why was he playing injured when he's not even good healthy?

Why would you bench Sims for the last 5 minutes or so? Is it a teachable moment? Do I fucking care about teachable moments or would I prefer that we have a chance to win the game?

Is John Beilein really a good coach? Shouldn't a good coach do better when he has all of his good players returning from a decent team?

Why is Anthony Wright on this team when he is not very good at basketball?

Man, we're even worse in person. I had really great seats, so unfortunately, I saw all of it up close. I am a Beilein fan, but after watching this team in person, I'm starting to question the coaching of these particular individuals as they function (or don't function) together. Manny and DeShawn just seemed like they were elsewhere. Stu actually looked like he wanted to play, as did Darius at times, and LLP, but as a cohesive unit? Nope. And Beilein just seemed disgusted the whole time.

Plus, there was no Michigan fan presence at that game. That was pretty disappointing. There are a lot of alums in Chicago. It would have helped to have some students there.

The Northwestern fans are getting as a-holish as other Big Ten schools. They even co-opted the "It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine" chant, but changed it to "Northwestern Wildcat."

And there was a hugely dickish older guy sitting in front of us with smelly hair and an equally smelly wife. If I hadn't been with my 9 year old, I would have insulted he and his wife and then put a big wad of chewing gum in his frizzy hair. Dick.

I found the most interesting stat was that in the last 19 games we've only shot over 34% from 3's 1 time. That really doesn't seem possible. How have we not put together a few 8 out of 20 games in that stretch.

I know that hope is lost for this season, but really I don't think we have fallen as far as it seems. If we just have a couple better shooting games we are right there probably 14-8 or 15-7 even, with a legit shot at the tourney.

I was wondering where all our beautiful back door plays disappeared to, but now its evident that no one respects the shooting and therefore can just sag back and let us shoot and miss, and generally be one and done. I think we are close its just too bad we weren't a little closer to a tourney run for the guys and us fans to look forward to...

wow wow wow, that was a flat performance, Beilein's chosen offense consisted of standing around the perimeter and passing or trying to pass the ball to each other. It was absolutely mind boggling to watch. When the clock reaced 15 sec someone would chuck it up or Manny would drive half way and try to shoot. When Sims got it he was double or triple teamed. Absolutely zero penetration. Zero traditional pt guard play. Morris made some strides with his shot but didn't really drive and dish. Which is not his fault, just B's plays.

UM 9 ast
I think the players were frustrated too. Can't really blame them, they are playing B's system but can't hit it. Stu, Novak and LLP would be good players coming off the bench, not starters, but unfortunately that is where we are.
LLP 6 pts
Stu 8 pts
Novak 5 pts
Whatever B is doing is not working. Time for change of lineup.

But that's what we see from this team too often. In JB's offense, a player is either screening, cutting, or has the ball. Nobody should be standing around! It's meant to create mismatches and easy shots.

This is why I think that Manny actually hurts the team at times. Too often everyone watches him drive to the basket and doesn't run the offense. I'd still like to count how many 3's are put up with less than 10 seconds off the clock. I'm sure that is positively correlated to winning percentage.

I think I dropped an F-Bomb everytime they shot with more than 28 seconds on the clock and it sounded like an episode of The Sporanos in my living room.

Northwestern is a good team. Crawford and Shurna have been on fire lately and they can beat anyone when they get hot from three.

That being said, I hope you guys beat the living crap out of the Flopping Badgers. Those guys make a living out of slowing the game down, gooning it up, and flopping. Their coach is an ass and looks like the devil. Unleash effing hell on them on Saturday.
