Just tuned into the Colorado Toledo game. I wonder if Toney Clemons is bumming about his decision to transfer.

Losing to Toledo two years in a row; that sort of thing would cause me to put myself down...
Already a thread.
The hilarious part is that this thread is the one that pushed the first UT-UC thread off the front page into the oblivion that is page 2.
Colorado appears to be one of the laziest teams I've ever seen play. Every play, it seems, there are weak blocks, rubber-arm "tackles", passes to tacopants. Wow, just wow. Toledo is opening Weis-size holes very often for their RB. I really thought that Hawkins would have Colorado on track; this is embarrassing for all their fans I would imagine.
"Colorado appears to be one of the laziest teams I've ever seen play."
T Clem should fit right in, then.
>>this is embarrassing for all their fans I would imagine.
I wonder if Brian Kelly likes mountains...
As a Cinci student, I'm almost a little offended at that idea. I think it woiuld be a step down to go to CU at this point.
That and HE came out and said he WOULDN'T go to M if they asked before M hired RR. He said he wanted to stay where he was and advance the program. And Cinci's doing a great job of building everything he asks for and they are able to provide.
RIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT. In related news, I released a statement saying in no way, shape or form would I go out with Kate Beckinsale if and when she asked me.
I'm sorry to say it friend, but there's no way Kelly is there 3 years from now. The only reason he ever released his statement about not being interested in the M job is because there was no way in Hell he was being considered for it. Savvy PR move? Yes. Actually turning his nose up at M to stay in Cinci? No. He's done good things for that program, but the resources aren't there like they'd be at CU or a larger state school.
He would have crawled over the bodies of his family to coach at Michigan. That was posturing. And he'll be gone within two years.
As a Central Alum of the Brian Kelly Era this is about as laughable as a statement as it gets. Once a bigger name school comes calling Kelly is outa there like a fat kid in dodge ball. If you look at his track record from GVSU to CMU, CMU to Cinci each stop he was "staying at" and lets not forget, he flaked out on the team that hadnt been to a bowl game in 15 years.
On the flip side he gave my friend who walked on to the football team a scholarship for his senior year, and said friend is now permanently attached to Kelly's hip and followed Kelly to Cinci to become a strength coach for the team.
I'm not mad though, he still turned a crappy team around into a perennial MAC contender so hey I'll take that.
Colorado sucks so bad I can feel the breeze toward Toledo right now. Clemons will probably start for them next year at any position he wants. If Colorado wins a Big 12 game this year the Big 12 North should be evicted from the conference.
Colorado looks like they didn't work very hard in the off season and camp sounds right up Tony's alley. Those who stay will become champions starting with ND today!
This game turned around quick. Could start getting good.
Hawkins said they'd win 10 games this year, and they've looked terrible so far... I live in Denver, and always sort of root for the Buffs to do well, although not very openly, so I don't feel too embarrassed. Have a lot of friends at CU though that have got to be feeling the hurt right now.
I didn't think CU was great after losing to CSU, but after Toledo got beat up by Purdue I figured this would be an easy win. I don't think Hawkins is going to last much longer there.
So after this loss, all they'll have to do is go 10-0 through the rest of their season. Seems do-able. Heck, throw in a bowl game and it's really only 10-1.
If Toledo continues to play as they have these first two weeks they could end up being involved in a game or two totaling 100+ this year.
Highest scoring game ever? Another Toledo TD...
Also, I agree about Hawkins. That was my first thought when I flipped to ESPN. How is CU this bad?
every time I look up it seems as though someone just scored...
Hawkins' son is the QB and so far I haven't seen anything impressive. There has to be a back up they can throw in.
They just decided this week to redshirt their freshman QB recruit. So that's one less backup. Who knows who else they have back there, but I wouldn't suspect there's much...
After watching Hawkins against Toledo, it makes you wonder how bad the back up or redshirt guy could possibly be.
but the coach wants to play his son regardless of the outcome. I don't think coach will make it past this year.
Is Colorado this bad or has Toledo improved from last year? They put up decent points against Purdue (for what that's worth).
As I'm sure many on this board may remember (and I'm sure you do), we were all thinking that Austin Dantin may be the second quarterback in our class following the panic that was Newsome and Beavergate. Had things gone a little differently tonight, we may have been able to see him get into the game and run a few meaningless plays. Heck, had things gone a little differently before the season, we may have been able to see him run a few meaningful plays tomorrow against ND.
I would say that the University of Colorado football club is not very good at that particular sport.
J/K but man is he putting up some stats threw the first two games! If only I had him in my fantasy league.
It's almost sad to see how bad Colorado has become.
More like, LOLorado BuffaLOLs. Talk about mailing one in... Yikes.
And how did Toledo amass so many freakishly tall receivers? They running their basketball team out there or something?
Typical SEC Fan: "The Big Tway-uhlve don't di-sarve its high rankin's ... Oklahoma gets bayt in its own backyard buh BYU, CU got rolled buh a MAC team. The SEC is the bay-uhst conference."
Reasonable Person With Brain: "Didn't Georgia get its clock cleaned by Oklahoma State?"
SEC Fan: "Y'all like gree-uhts?"
What the hell? I mean they were going down when Barnett was there, but at least they were a respectable team every year. CU alums must be slitting their wrists. And why are you playing at Toledo?
Them Colorado boys must not have done much during the past offseason.
It's a great day for the Rockets and the Glass Bowl!!
