College Gameday to be at Michigan-Wisconsin

Per the twitters. Random. This probably means that game will be at 7. Which means it will conflict with Hockey. Die ESPN.

Actually in the latest "Inside The Fort" over at Rivals the staff reported that Jaylen had to cancel the trip due to a scheduling conflict.

EDIT: From Chris Balas yesterday...

Sorry WD this isn't a bad thing considering it can be huge for recruiting, especially with Jaylen Brown in town. Maybe we'll get a repeat of commit-a-palooza circa 2011 OSU Gameday game.

ESPN must see this game as a potential upset. I really wouldn't be surprised after what Rutgers did to them.

I'm just annoyed at it being the same time as our Hockey team that is averaging 7 goals per game thus far in the calendar year.

And to the "DVR!, DVR!" birds, it's on a channel I don't get because I live in Michigan so I have to watch it on BTN+ which I usually stream to my TV.

There have been times in the past where I've watched Hockey over Basketball. I'll try to figure something out I guess.

When ESPN set their college hoops schedule months ago, they had both MSU/Nebraska and Wisky/Michigan as 4/7 ET tips.  One would be at 7 (and get GameDay), one would be at 4.

Anyway, point being --- this always had the potential to conflict with hockey.  Such is: I think the publicity of GameDay on-campus is worth it.

Wisconsin can always shift the start time of ice hockey back from 8 ET (7 CT) to 9 ET (8 CT).  8 CT is still not very late, it's a Saturday night anyway, and the game's on a relatively "low-profile" TV network where they may have some flexibility.

That'd be two 9pm games in a row.

I wish they'd move it back to the daytime.

You see, unlike wisconsin, Michigan actually schedules the Hockey home game times to accomodate people who don't want to miss any of either game.

Last weekend was awesome. They had the Basketball game at 1, and then I made the short trek to Yost for the Hockey game.

I agree with WD, being the prime time game on national television is terrible for recruiting. How did ESPN not take into account the hockey schedule ? This is an outrage !

In basketball? Why? I thought this meant next year for football and I was trying to remember when we play Wisconsin again. What is the point of them going to a Michigan basketball game though?

The Michigan State at Nebraska game, which was previously announced as a net flex, will be a 4 p.m. on ESPN. looks like we can thank wisconsin.. there aren't many great games that weekend outside of the big12, and they're at ku-isu now

It certainly won't hurt to have a national game.  And yeah, it sucks it conflicts with hockey, I guess (sure seems like lots of bandwagon jumping recently with this team, given what I read in the game threads a couple months ago), but I'd like to think most people can find a way to enjoy both.

I'll be the first to say I doubted Red. I WANT people to neg me for that. I begged for negs after he won his 800th game last week.

Please neg me. I most certainly deserve it.

But I did not bail on this team. I've watched every game and have listened to the ones that weren't televised. Even that debacle on the road back in November at Tech. The last Hockey game I missed was two years ago and that was due to a Basketball game.

The ESPN site is now officially listing this at a 7 PM game, so that's what it shall be. Actually, we have quite a few games which will start at 7 PM EST or later coming up, from the look of things, starting tonight with Northwestern and this 8:15 PM tip. BTN really likes to pretend I have nothing better to do on Saturday night - sadly, they are correct in the case of this Saturday.

a scheduling conflict due to a game being rescheduled apparently... is this legit or a sign we're fading? with gameday seems an ideal time to have him on campus with a lively crowd

also reading elsewhere that derrick thorton in 2016 will be removing michigan from his list
